This is something Umfuld would make only he wouldn't loop it and he wouldn't worry about recursion and he wouldn't make his own audio. So, basically, this is a simple clip that was actually made into a somewhat complete concept rather than just regurgitating the exact scene from the movie. Maybe I only like it due to Umfuld's re-emergence, which makes even the slightest creative effort look like a triumph of the human spirit, but whatever.

Why do so many people here freak out over art sites and the users who prefer them? It's not like there's a "danger" of such sites dominating this place, considering the popular tastes here (or in any other medium or venue, for that matter.) Also, it doesn't exactly exhaust the mind to understand the ground rules for the different types of sites here: classic, noise, art, joke, FSF, remix, etc. etc. Everyone can have their own preferences while appreciating the other styles on their own merits.

The attitude that prevails here is equivalent to going to movies only to see action films and comedies while automatically dismissing any other genre, or reading only science fiction novels to the exclusion of other books. Of course, there are many people like this IRL. (Also, some of the art people have been guilty of this on their own side, but at least they don't have conniptions over other users' preferences.)

If Korf wants to critique sites from a highbrow, ideological point of view, then good. In fact, great. We've otherwise been missing this sort of perspective since inkdrinker. I actually disagree with some of ink's and korf's criticisms, and I'm sure they would disagree with much of each others', but at least they're looking at things from a genuine perspective instead of just giggling at every joke site that comes along.

I don't consider Korf a troll, though it's understandable that someone would define him as such. He often argues only for absurdity's and comedy's sake, but that's not to say he doesn't have convictions. There are times when I find his (pseudo) pseudo-intellectual bullsh*t to be more entertaining than YTMND itself. Korf's a cool and interesting fella; either you get him or you don't.
