When I said everyone focuses on violence instead of peace I meant exactly that. They do indeed speak up. Sure, in some areas the people are too scared to do anything, but that is still a small part of the world. The problem is just that reporting violence is more interesting. I live in Europe. When I made that comment I was speaking about slavery in the United States, and not slavery as a whole. True slavery is still practiced by various people throughout the world, but I specifically meant that no US citizen currently alive bears any responsiblity for the practice of slavery in the US pre-1865, and no reparations are due to "african americans" who have never been slaves.

Slavery is a funny thing: it's done outside the western world. Then these products are exported to the western world. When you buy clothes, there's a big chance it's done by children in poor countries. Not exactly slavery, but there's a very thin line. Also, I just wanted to point out that the connection between slavery and muslims is useless in this argument. And yes, there's still a kind of subliminal racism in the so-called civilised world causing the decreased chances of minorities.

There is a difference between forms of racism. There's the "stole my bike" racism at which even black people tend to laugh. And there's the "dirty ape" racism that gives the whole too much of a hateful message. Even if you don't mean it to be racist, it does seem like it.
