We can actually change the state of Islam in the United States, and it's important we do it now while the Muslim population is relatively small. Muslims have already impacted this nation in major way and currently they only comprise 1% of our population. Look at riots and unrest in France, which has an 8% Muslim population, and you can see things get very bad very quickly if you let Islam grow within a democratic society.

Tell me something you know about Sharia law.

I know there are various flavors of it, some of which promote cruel punishments like lashings for drinking coffee with a woman in public or death by stoning for apostates. Regardless of the severity or rationality of the individual type, all Sharia seeks to place legal authority in the holy book and scholars of one religion rather than in the hands of a representative government. Freedom and elected government have worked well for the west and we're not looking to lose them any time soon.
