The governments in Iran and Saudi-Arabia encourage this type of punishment for women. In fact Islamic religious law (Sharia) is even written into their official law, and they have police forces dedicated to enforcing it. We can't do anything about honour killings in those countries, the pacifists in our nation will not allow it. However the Muslims here must follow our law not Sharia law, and if they continue to refuse to then action must be take against Islam.

It isn't just one Muslims that does this. Two Muslim women have been killed in Dearborn Michigan, the USAs most Islamic city, in the last six months. In the Qur'an Sura 4:34 it says a man should beat his wives if they disobey him(wives is plural because many Muslims practice polygamy). I hope you realize that Atheism is the finality in your train of logic. The same cause of this murder have been played on and used in Christianity countless times. Present Islam is Medieval Christianity in its full fledged ignorance and brutality. Unable to cope in this modern world and thus must either fight or die. Moderate Christianity will fare better but it will die out not much later than Fundamentalist Christianity. All religion will eventually regress into Deism, Pantheism, or Atheism.

Actually the finality in my train of logic to be the elimination of Islam from the United States. This is a free country; people are allowed to believe what they want to believe, so long as they aren't violent because of it. It doesn't have to do with Islam. It has to do with the fact that he grew up in a culture where you have that personal or family honor system. If you look more into who Yasir Said is, he never went to mosque, and he never was into his faith. This is more of a cultural thing. Although I'm an atheist and would like to ideally see all organized religions (specifically the Abrahamic religions) abolished, I know realistically that that will never happen. The point is that all Abrahamic faiths have roots in violence, intolerance, and oppression; you shouldn't focus merely on Islam. A simple Google search or flip through the Old Testament will reveal much of Judaism and Christianity's darker sides. Why aren't you speaking out against those religions?

Islam is obviously a far greater violent threat in modern times than Christianity or Judaism. If history has demonstrated anything, it is that religion or other widely accepted secular dogmas will inevitably be used as a pretext for violence; simply because there are no modern examples of the use of Christianity and Judaism for widespread violence does not mean it will not happen in the future. And in both of those faiths as well as Islam, such violence is mandated. Just because Islam is the only of the three causing major problems does not mean it is the only one you should be speaking out against.
