I read all of this. Can I have 3 minutes back? Really though I like the image but there are so many other songs out there that could be seen as being just as emo if not more so. If 3D serves the joke or makes it more entertaining at all, then great (see http://conanbike64.ytmnd.com/). If it's there just to be fancy and doesn't make anything really better, then this would have been just as funny if it was drawn in PaintBrush.

Being in 3-Dimensionalistic Fan-C-Vision makes the animated image better quality... that's the purpose of 3D graphics. The image is part of "anything", regardless of wether it's crafted beyond what's strictly necessary to convey the idea. I choose to go balls to the walls on images for my ideas cuz that's the strongest of my skills to offer the audience. In general, super schmancy imagery made entirely from scratch for a ytmnd is a rare enough spectacle that it adds value to a site anyway.
