look, gun politics aside, Charlton Heston is an American Icon. but i don't feel that this is necesarrily disrespectful to him - Heston himself had a pretty brash personality, and if you make famous a phrase involving your own cold dead hands, you kind of have to expect that someone's gonna crack a joke about it after you go. yeah, if someone said this to one of his family members, or if the site was more along the lines of "haha, good riddance! Heston is dead!" that would be disrespectful.

Not everybody is like that. My 15-year-old cousin accidentally shot himself to death while messing around with his dad's gun, and I still support the right to bear arms.

Gun laws are actually the only issue I'm in agreement with right wingers on. I firmly believe it's a bad idea NOT to own a gun. But like every right enumerated in the Constitution, it has limitations. The notion that the Second Amendment bestows an absolute right to owning guns, with no restrictions whatsoever, is ludicrous. Every right in the Bill of Rights has limitations-speech, right to counsel, assembly, search and seizure. So too with gun rights.

it's obvious that you have never even touched a gun before... this is i guess why i was unable to make the connection because when i think of having a gun i don't immediately think of killing people... the purpose of a (handgun especially) is to threaten force, using it is the last thing i want to do in a threatening situation. the purpose of a rifle is....well... how can you be against warrentless wiretaps and government spying (on citizens) and also be against rifles?
