| Lucy thought that she got away scot-free, until she woke up a few nights later. There was a shadow at the foot of her bed. She switched on her bedside lamp. She tried to scream, but it caught in her throat. Charlie Brown stood there, his crushed head lolling to one side. His one good eye stared accusingly, and with a voice that sounded as though it were filtered through rotten seaweed, he said
" You should have let me kick the ball, bitch!" |

| Paralyzed with fear, Lucy could do nothing as Charlie Brown lunged forward, his dead hands hooked into claws. As he slowly squeezed the life out of her, she kicked uselessy at the air, until with a last rattle, Lucy's world black. She was found the next day, with a football shoved into her gaping mouth, and her eyes still open, and frozen in her last moments of sheer terror. |
