I don't know much about Palin, but I do know that she's the only Governor in this Presidential race. Historically, only three Senators have become Presidents, the last one being JFK. In general people don't trust Senators, and with good reason. They don't know how to run anything. For the first time since 1960 we will have a former Senator as a President. I'll give you that Biden is a dim bulb. My father went to law school with him and he's been more interested in his career than in actual work since he was in his 20s. When the Dems announced him as the VP candidate, I wrote a long letter to the party (of which I am not a member, for what it's worth) voicing my disappointment. What scares me among the right is the inability to ever admit to betting on the wrong horse. But maybe it's that whole "mission from God" thing.
