I didn't steal this from anything. Also, I never read the onion, though I've heard it's funny.

the only real change is the symbolic one of having a black man in the figurehead position of comm. in chief (as a Democrat he is by default status quo) and it's not illegitimate to contest that a minority ought to have their likeness in that symbolic position

2008-11-02 02:41:19

That's not the only change, although the other immediate changes would really be reverting to several values we abandoned in the past couple of decades. The first would be a reunification of the United States in that the needs of both Democrats and Republicans are addressed and the division and hostility between citizens of the same nation would diminish. The second is the end of our current iconoclast cynicism that would tear down great men like Gandhi and MLK were they alive today, simply because of the

large and devoted following these men created (as we see in how many say Obama is leading a cult because of how much some of his followers not just support him, but aspire to him, which is actually very normal considering the caliber of his character and the boldness and altruism of his stance)

alright everyone relax. this isn't the place to discuss politics. I highly doubt anyone here is intelligent enough to do so anyway. if you find it funny (as you might even if you're for obama), rate high

"I actually support, and already voted for, Obama." nice job voting for the giant douche, i hope the turd sandwich wins (he wont)

2008-11-02 20:27:21

you seem like one of those morons who thinks it's pointless to vote just because politics and politicians suck

2008-11-02 20:35:50

Which bites because both candidates are by far the best we've seen in over a decade. If you won't vote now, you're too lazy to vote ever.

hate the game, not the players. politicians are forced to be douchebags sometimes. can't win by playing it nice. though some people do go overboard... karl rove and such

2008-11-03 14:31:18

mccain is definitely the lesser of 2 evils but i'd rather just let it die then drag it out further, seems like things go in cycles, might as well end this cycle, let your saviour get elected, once he f*cks it up beyond belief it'll swing back to common f*cking sense ........i hope

I would rather just shoot the horse in the head than keep it limping along... in other words i'd rather vote for obama than mccain at this point but cant bring myself to do it... he'll win anyway so f*ck it

Obama is, in fact, the lesser of the two evils. if you had any sense of logic, which too many republicans dont, you'd realize that easily. there is an overwhelming amount of logical reasons why obama is the correct choice.

2008-11-03 19:06:48

it took a Carter (the only president with a lower approval rating than Bush) to bring out a real president, hopefully it'll happen again, either that or we go silently into the night, f*ck it

God, I swear, almost half of obama supporters scare me. They're like hypnotized. Seriously. Not like McCain is any better though...

2008-11-02 22:29:52

This is what I mean by iconoclast cynicism. Anybody who looks up to a prominent leader today is somehow "hypnotized". But all the countless followers that rallied and adored past civil leaders were fine? Why aren't we allowed to have heroes anymore?

2008-11-03 00:57:39

They weren't.

2008-11-03 01:00:26

Although, I suppose hypnotism could theoretically be fine, I really don't trust Obama at all, mainly due to his voting record. I dislike anyone that voted for that bailout, that was not fine it has no logical justification. Goldman sachs was not providing any useful services. Honestly, they were leeching from the economy. Anyways, I won't debate further on a joke site, though.

2008-11-03 01:09:07

Actually he (and McCain, if I recall) were among those trying to amend the bailout before it got passed but the current administration was adamant about the current amount and it was either they get a massive bailout or no bailout. If only one of them could have become president two months early.

2008-11-03 18:56:47

if you could realize how ridiculous it is that obama is not winning by a landslide because of how stupid american people have become, you'd be impassioned for obama too. though I do think way too many people base their vote off of emotional reactions
2008-11-02 23:07:07

I immediately thought of change as in money laying around when I saw the title.
2008-11-03 13:07:48
