Actually... he was a robot that ran off an internal nuclear reactor. The reactor used nuclear to turn water into steam, which then turned a generater, which thus turned the nuclear energy into electricity. Unfortunatly, this doomed the robot for failure from the very beginning, since water and robots do not mix. Simple fact of life.
