I should also point out that your story is dubious at best anyway. I have a suspicion that you know full-well that asking for a free logo on a creative site is the ultimate douche-bag move and this is probably just a big troll site for lulz at responses like mine and the others. Because - you can't be serious right? A logo for $20? Pfft... I get $100 an hour for logo work and there are often dozens versions of revisions back and forth. dude. i own a very small business. i wasn't expecting any real serious efforts here anyway. just maybe a few ideas or something. i'm a reg user here and figured i'd give it a shot. just wanted to throw something on our tshirts for giveaways this summer. its not like its going to be some big corporate logo or mascot. we are a tiny piece of sh*t dive bar and we are just throwing a drawing on some tshirts for giveaways and sh*t. jesus christ lighten up.

i came here because i know very little about this kind of sh*t. i figured there might be a few bored artists here...not necessarily pros...who would like the challenge, the money and/or recognition. i had no intention of offending anyone but goddamn you are one sensitive bastard.

my best friend is a graphic designer. he's done stuff for us in the past, but he's in rehab right now. i respect gds and their field of work. but you guys gotta also understand, this is frigging cleveland, not manhattan. we don't exactly have a booming art industry here. and i'm not some big restaurant chain trying to come up with a mascot i will use to make profits off of for years to come. i just need a summer design, and a goddamn party parrot. i had no idea so many would offended by this.

Its not that they are lazy, the purpose and usage are everything. If someone pays $20 to have someone draw some dumb pic for their kid or something then whatever. But if someone is asking for images intended to be reproduced and used to help a profitable business then fairness and ethics insist that the pay becomes more realistic.

it was probably wrong calling it a 'mascot'. it's just something my bar is going to throw on promotional posters and tshirts this summer. in retrospect $20 was a low offer, but i was honestly just trying to establish some initial contact about it and then probably end up paying more once i got some serious efforts and talked to someone. and actually some dude on here made a really good one and all he wanted was the $20 but he won't write me back to let me know how to pay him.
