FYI, Tile registered just as AwesomeBob and I both 5d a month old WAFFLEZ site. He 1d it, then 1d the gr33nscr33stopsecretalt site I posted the other day, though it'd long since dropped off the front page and I was on my gr33nscr33n acc't. He 1d a few gr33nscr33n sites, then deleted the votes (?), then went after GeneralFod/bigmac2112. He knows enough to hide his online status, was clearly watching spy, and then posted some wordy, self-justifying comments riddled with cyclical logic. Take your best guess.

I didn't 'have' to do anything. I'm just not so stupid that I don't realize that most people vote the user and not the site. I do it myself. Every time I make a new profile, first site I make is on top viewed / top rated without fail. I may not be among the elite users but the place is better when I'm here making sites. And since the top viewed 'new' site yesterday got less than 2,800 views - this place obviously needs more people like me - and a lot less of you.

For what it's worth, I really first joined this place to write an article about web2.0-style communities and how they relate to new media art. I did that, then got hooked because the community itself, the part umfuld is decrying here as unessential to the comedy, is fascinating in a Sherry Turkle sort of way. The problem is that its easy to get caught up in the very dynamics of studying something like this and before too long I was addicted just like everyone else. So much for immersive journalism.
