What? King of the Hill is funny. Just because the Simpsons jokes are written like monkeys with ADD did them doesn't mean everything other show has to follow the same method to be a good. King of the Hill is like a cartoon sitcom.

agreed with wisdumcube. KotH's delivery is more deadpan, but its humor is often as absurd. it just doesn't hit you over the head with it.

i honestly never liked king of the hill.

I used to not like it either until I actually sat down and watched it for more than ten minutes. The show requires so much more investment than most, but the payoff is usually worth it.

What I like about King of the Hill is that it's written by folks who tend to be more conservative, but do a great job poking fun at their own values. No one could parody small town America as well as they do unless you know it and love it too. Simpsons used to be good at that but lost it somewhere around season 5/6ish.

Because they talk sometimes? Some of these radical liberals are just stumbled upon, not marketed to an audience. They aren't really given attention by the media like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I guess what I mean is that the annoying ones are muffled, not quiet.

We're getting off topic. We were originally in the middle of assuming that Mike Judge, the creator of Beavis and Butthead, Idocracy and Office Space was conservative.

Mike Judge was far from the only writer on King of the Hill. Ben Stein, who is in no way worried about being tagged a "conservative" in the entertainment world, has often remarked about his friendships with members of the King of the Hill writing team and their conservative slant. But so what. My original point was simply to note that they write a sort of "small town America" in a way that I enjoy, hence why I don't think the show sucks.

I couldn't stand King of the Hill until recently. Recently, it has been fricken hilarious. It's really good how the episodes actually have something to do with the previous one, or that the people on the show are more conscious of their past.
