I like this site, but its accusation appears to be false. Either Omni was able to change the domain name of his old site, or else max based the idea for the contest on his site. Since I don't think the former is possible, that means his site is 100% legit as a contest entry. Am I wrong?

It's not Omni's fault. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that if max makes a contest for a prize, you shouldn't be able to add old sites to the list. It just so happens that Omni's site was already well established, and it's not really fair to anyone else who put a serious entry to the contest. Plus out of all those 600+ votes, how many of them still browse ytmnd currently? It doesn't really matter to me, I just like pointing things out.

Well, by saying "just edit your site" you seemed to be referring to the practice of editing unrelated, well-rated sites to make them contest entries, which isn't what happened here. Also, I don't see how the number of votes Omni got back then is some kind of advantage. 100 votes should be about as good as 600 votes at determining the average response of the community. Sorry if I'm being a jerk, I just like pointing things out.

Clearly max based the contest on the site. Either that or he's spent so much time here he doesn't even remember the sites he's already seen and thought he had an original idea. Sort of like how fourest used to make a site.

I submitted my old site to the contest on Ochobobo's suggestion because, as far as I know, there is no rule against submitting old sites into the contest. That said, you do make a good point- people who make sites now may find it difficult to catch up to my YTMND. In any case, the site has dropped in rating without any help from this site and I expect it to sink further as the days go by due to the fact that the site- and the jokes- are from 2007. If you guys really feel that what I've done is unfair, let me know and I'll take it off the list.

It's fine, if anything this should change how contests should be judged/explained in the future (IF THERE IS ANY MORE LOL). If the contest was judged solely by rating, in my opinion it would be unfair to submit a site that was created before the contest started. This only applies for contests that have an actual prize, not the other random contests we've had. From my understanding the top 3 RATED would be the winners. However I'm betting max will cherry pick the winners like he did with the T-shirt contest.

Anyways, I sorta jumped to conclusion on the way sites would be judged. When in reality we have no idea how max judges BECAUSE HE HASN'T ANNOUNCED ANY WINNERS BEFORE LOL

well I won the razor gator contest, but that wasn't really hosted by max, lol

but really, I suggested Omni submit his site since max allowed old sites to be submitted in previous contests, as long as they followed the rules. So I figured his site would be fair game.

The problem is that max judges contests by rating. And seeing as a site with a high rating and 600+ votes will not be effected nearly as badly by a few dipsh*ts with alts or whatever, well yeah, it isn't fair. But really, if you aren't using max's contests to make fun of him, then you shouldn't win anyway.
