It's good to see a classic ytmnd ranked so high between sh*tty short films... also, who cares if it's been done before. The execution in this one is so much better it just annihilates that other site.
i saw the link, and didnt find it particulary funny. Also, the same joke was exploited in the youtube movie, so there was no need for this ytmnd, imho.
I mean, who cares if his movies dont have a deep meaning? They're extremely entertaining, and IMHO it is far harder to entertain than everything else, in a film.
About Tarantino: I think that, even if he wants his movies to look like older movies he loved back in the days, they are totally different affairs. Nobody can deny that Kill Bill was eclectic and unique, even if it contained a whopping load of references to other movies. It was an awesome film, and the proof that simple, clever entertainment still works in a theater.
I dont usually make memorial sites. But this one, I had to do it, for two reasons:
1) Ingmar Bergman was a genious, and one of my favourite directors
2) Probably no one else would've made it, since most ytmnders are very ignorant on Non-American movies
Dont worry, cause great films will never stop being made. Go check "The Lives of the Others", for example. You wouldnt believe that it is a 2006 movie.
A new generation of artists is coming. And remember: Cronemberg, Lynch, Tarantino and many others are still there.
