Wow, I'm surprised another person actually saw that movie.
After removing a fair amount of drinkable water the remainder is a super saline solution that is discharged back into the ocean. It has a higher density so it doesn't just disperse as easily and tends to kill most things in its path. Garygnu- This isnt the Oregon Trail, we don't need that much salted jerky. But, bacon on the other hand...
