I don't know, this is kind of like saying that people drink less X Factor Melon Gatorade than they do any kind of fruit juice. They're not really on the same level orginizationally. I suppose if you pinpointed a single atheistic dictatorship like the Nazis, they could be compared, but you can't compare a single religion's deaths to the deaths caused by everyone else. Not really fair

Carl Sagan makes an excellent point here, but I don't think that this quote necessarily supports your claims against the religious. He's pointing out, and I agree with him, that we were put on Earth to help ourselves. That doesn't necessarily mean that we are alone. Honestly, if God were to give us everything we needed to survive and be happy, what would be the point of living?
