Hi, I'm new to YTMND. Maybe someone would like to explain to me why "extreme racism" is an example of something not permitted, but this site--in which the creator's point is to claim that people who don't happen to be Christians will *literally* die painful deaths and then suffer for an indeterminately long time, possibly eternity--is permitted. Unverifiable stories exploit or even mock the fear of dying old men...to do what? Denigrate all other belief systems? This is no better than "extreme racism" at all

And what Sagan failed to realize is that the self-importance is what makes us strive for advancement as a species. If we see ourselves as only a randomly formed speck of dust the best we can hope for is less miserable lives. Seeing ourselves as beings put here to prove something to a power greater than ourselves has inspired millions of people to do things (both good and evil) that they would have not had the courage/motivation/imagination to accomplish. The defeatist mentality is inspired by "cosmic awe".

I'm ready to accept death when it comes, and I'm willing to pay any consequences as well. I believe that I'm doing my part to help others because it makes me feel better in return by doing so. I can't accept beliefs solely on faith. I would be lying to myself and everyone else, even if I were to act like I believed when I clearly don't. I don't think true belief is something that can be taught, it's probably something predisposed or gained through a personal experience.

So, why make a YTMND if its about the very topic you are fighting? Whestone was mearly showing his opinion about the things of this time, as are you. Therefore, why make something to combat whestone for doing the exact thing that you are doing? You my friend have formed a paradox, well, what would be considered a paradox to anyone with any sense. Stop making bullsh*t ytmnds and accept the diversity of this site.

meh been done before actually :( won't 1 it. but also should read up on ghost. It's been put on pause for now, possibly indefinately. they kept making changes and such during development and decided they weren't gonna bring it out on ps2/xbox and that IF they do ever bring it back and finish it, it will be on next-gen systems. I love blizzard but wish they would release this for something already.

There will always be people who use religion as an excuse to try to justify malevolent actions against others, but you also have to remember that even without religion these same people would have found another way to do the same thing and just use something else as an excuse. You also have to remember that there are always exceptions to this and there will be an opposite, honorable action taking place that will go unnoticed over the wretched one. In summary, humans are far from perfect.

This is not what your opponents expect you to believe, nor do they ask you to give up your faith in God in order to accept the empirical truth of evolution. Only the most narrow of minds would think that either of these beliefs exclude one another. You have enormous faith in God, so why is it so hard to believe that He created something as subtle and beautiful as evolution? I think YOU, SIR, need to rethink your own dogmatism and stopping underestimating God. No offense. Feel free to respond.

Well happiness is typically the "self interest" that people have. Survival instinct and rational self interest are not typically equated as the latter has relations to preference whereas the first is merely survive/not survive, do you agree? If so, then there must be some sort of basis established to account for the reason someone would choose something over another thing or prefer something as good rather than bad even though neither option would affect their survival...

Dear AskAak. You have made the first supposed-to-be-trippy YTMND that actually had me tripping out. I would give you 6 stars if I could. If you were a seller on ebay, and I bought something from you, and it didn't ship on time and it didn't match the description, I would still leave you a nice comment like "A++++ SUPER SMERT SELLAR WOULD DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN" just because you made this YTMND. I award you the first annual Golden Intarwebs Award.

Oh, and about the other entries: Site looks fine to me, and the ideas for the new site creation setup are good. I agree that the gimmick accounts should be banned, but I have a few questions on those, too: are exclusive upvoters/downvoters considered gimmick accounts, and if so, what would constitute being worthy of a ban--say, 50% of votes are 1s/5s, or some other percent? And no, I won't GTFO because if I didn't have YTMND, I'd wind up, you know, doing something useful or, God forbid, going outside.
