Big difference between doing something creative with something that wasn't originally yours and simply taking it and slapping on a watermark. If he had changed it, made it funnier somehow.. I would have been HAPPY to see it there.

******** Max, I would NOT delete all the ytmnds with Ebaum in the name. That is crazy... But, I would however add disclaimers along the lines of "The ideas, images, etc. expressed on this websige do not represent the position blah blah blah of YTMND... etc. etc. etc..) Additionally, maybe a "terms of use" or something before seeing the home page that the user must agree to forfeit all rights.. blah blah blah... something along those lines... just a thought... While I do admit mocking Eric and Neil Bauman, I never would, or want to, DDOS attack his website or make death threats to Eric. But it wasn't just YTMND that attacked ebaumsworld. It was also groups like Newgrounds, Something Awful, Adult Swim, GameFAQs, 4chan, KNova, Fark, LUE, LivingWithStyle, D-Day and LUElinks.

Eric Bauman was not stupid. He tried to fuel the attacks with his petty taunts, IE, page changes etc in an attempt to say "See, look I can sue these *ssholes now". He was hoping Max would lose his cool and do or say something stupid but figured out Max

I just realized something. This would be a whole lot more awesome if we had a silhouette of Conan doing the arm gesture he did in the other YTMNDs.

Wonder if Bauman can fight the US constitution. Because last I checked people have the right to their own opinions and are free to express themselves how they wish so long as it is not slanderous. This however, is not slander. Something which is slanderous must be a definable true or false statement. If I had gone to the news paper and had them print "Bauman killed my Dad" THAT would be slander seeing as my father is alive. However I can say Bauman is, in my opinion, an idiot. and there is no legal action that can be taken against me. What should we do, practice another right! Protest at their "headquarters", so long as it's a peaceful protest we can do so with signs, chants and whatever creative ideas we have to express our free speech further.

About moderation, I think you're onto something, but I do see problems arising. Often a site you worked hard on will get pushed off the "Last 5 Created" by poorly made sites and in-jokes to friends, and then your site is never heard from again. I like the "Up and Coming" list that relatively recently appeared, as this helps new YTMNDs in their early moments. Moderation of sorts might help ensure that only the good ones make it to the lists. On the other hand, what's to encourage people to moderate? Would sites just end up hanging in limbo for weeks? Perhaps a system rewarding users with points (similar to GameFAQs Karma) for doing it?

Well..You have sure been busy Max. As far as paying for extra features, Im all game, Pending on how much you wanna charge and how you wanna charge it (Yearly, Monthly, Quarterly). I know its not set in stone, But some of the things up there qould do nothing but Add to this site. Some, like the Moderatior Ques, Would take away from it. If you worried about content of YTMND's, (Meaning you dont want a huge flasted penis showing up when someone clicks on a link to "The New Picard Song" or something), You might consider More Mods? Anything but Mod Ques. That would do nothing but cause frustraition and confusion. And we both know that if one of those things happen, these guys tend to Riot.

You should add something in the forums just for "old friends" of ytmnd-- users who paid long before there were benefits to doing so. I and many others reading your To-Do list would be in that category.

I've got this idea to help out people who want to show off their YTMNDs but have no way to do so, a "shout-out" box on the first page with 10 YTMNDs, if a user "shouts-out" their YTMND it'll be bumped to the top of this list and will only dissappear when the list is filled again. Another idea!: Instead of letting users upload any image as their profile image why not use something like Gaia Online where all the Avatars are different yet alike (bennetton rly?), something like, i dunno, a 9x6 ASCII (colored) text box that can be edited by users, like this: by default: 888888888 888888888 888888888 888888888 888888888 888888888 it would cut a lot on image space not to mention make www.ytmnd.com and even more unique site.

^what do you think the risk of an all paid YTMND would be? i dont think we'd lose the more popular posters and addicts, and i think it would affect the overall scores of a lot of sites in a positive way, but so many great sites come from 'idiot savants' who stumble upon something great who otherwise might not sign up, or make two sites and then disappear... that rkelly/milton remix has half a million views and that user has only two sites and barely any votes... begs the question - does the site success really depend on the number of members?
