You can get .SPC players and .SPC files off of Zophar's Domain - they are the original SNES sound files (and the players emulate the sound core). In the SMB2 collection, the trackname is "Boss 3-4 & 5-8" ... using Winamp's Diskwriter, you can then get a WAV to play with and/or encode; that's what I do when I want to get MP3s of

this method works pretty well. Also, try graphedit if that doesn't work.

Have you tried using Cool Edit Pro and re-saving it as a mp3? Or getting the 'Out-Lame' winamp plug-in to re-encode it as an mp3? Those are some of the things I've done when mp3s don't behave properly.

Quicktime is better than RealPlayer and as good or better than Windows Media Player (especially if iTunes is taken into consideration). Of course these aren't as nice as after-market players like Winamp or dbPowerAmp but do any of those make browser plugins anyway??

Also it's weird how IE (and Winamp with proper buffer settings) can play loops dead-perfectly, but Windows Media Player can't. The right hand doesn't know how the left plays gaplessly. :(
