actually sentu, more than once while sitting in spy (which i almost never do, so that really is just testament to how often you must do this) while sitting in spy i see "sentu posted" scroll down, then you pop into the chat and boom, there's your link. you immediately ask questions about how it looks, trying to get creative, constructive suggestions. but really its pretty clear that youre posting a site then posting the link while trying open up a dialogue about it and BOOM all the typial jerks start jerking.

great formula. you should teach fourest your method. he just shamelessly whores his crap. but then again, maybe you should take a thing or two from him. his sites are more overrated.

There is a difference in the conversation between individual rewards and institutional ones. On an individual level for example, one might benefit from racism, immigration, and other otherings; one might be preferred a job over, say, a woman or a black man. But maintaining these divisions allows business interests a cheap and available alternative should their usual workers organize and demand better compensation. So, as a group, we, the established residents, all lose in the power bargain that is politics, and government becomes as Dewey described it, The shadow cast on society by big business.

there is no definitive setup or punchline, no message or deeper criticism of anything relevant to the content or its origins. like 90% or your sites, it seems that directionlessly fooling around in photoshop led to a cool gif, and then hey, add some nice recognizable background music. but hey, there's nothing wrong with that.

here we see yet another photoshop project that's directionless enough to be open to interpretation, and there's a certain entertainment value to be derived from that. its just a fun thing you created. and hey, its arnold. we're all familiar with arnold, so that grabs our interests right away. great for the votes and views. great for your self satisfaction. and why else would you be doing this?

vote changed again: to 4.

God & Adam are chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool and all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school when a couple of guys who were up to no good started makin' trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one lil' fight and my mom got scared, she said "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air". I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I can say that this cab is rare, but I thought now forget it yo homes to Bel Air! I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cab "Yo homes, smell ya later!" I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air.

I kind of have a policy of appreciating things less if very little personal effort was invested in a ytmnd I enjoy, because it makes me think the user is benefiting from the original creator's effort in place of the creator. (Well, I suppose it is less me having a strict policy and more me being disappointed that this wasn't original. When I view something like a classic style ytmnd, I have no such expectancy, so its much easier to forgive them.) I am not asking for there to be 100% new material all the time, I am asking for more effort than adding two existing assets together. You could have further built on this joke in numerous ways, showing your appreciation for the original piece without being a straight up replication.

Absolutely none of this is possible. Oxygen is secondary to our planet, Co2 was here first. Stuff in the ocean and rock/ice layers tell us that. Co2 is GOOD for the earth, no people, but the earth. The trees you drive by take DEEP breaths of it as you drive by. A single volcano can put out close to what humanity has produced, EVER. All of this stuff was in my science books etc as a kid. "Fossil Fuel" is another good one... Dino bones were found in oil deposits giving first birth myth to the 'fossil fuel' phrase, sadly it was pedaled as the truth by interest that seek to control every facit of your carbon based life. It was discovered in the 50's that 'OIL IS ABIOTIC.' Aka non-bio nature.

http://mondovista.com/abioticoilx.html

One thing that was not in my books though, is this 'tectonic shift' bologna. The crevices of faults such as the ring of fire, etc, expand. You can see the stretch marks on the ocean floor and measure it's rate of stretch with sonar and infrared satellites (creating maps with them and comparing the maps over time.) As the exothermic reactions take places under the crust of earth you are left with less concentrated but harder material with more volume. The causes planets, and yes EARTH, to EXPAND. It's doubled in size the last 110million years. Mountians are still made in the same/similar way, but the 'free floating Pangea' is just not possible. Pangea WAS the earth, it was completely solid (remember it has the same MASS but less VOLUME because things have not burned long enough yet) and the beginning oceans were pools. A particular rock when burned releases water, this is how oceans grew as expand. Just as the poles flip every so often, etc, there are many more things about how the earth works and space we would not begin to imagine yet!

We're on a rock flying through space around a huge nuclear reactor... I figure I'm not going to convince you, but I thought sharing my opinion might sway users less devoted to the moonman core idea of unmitigated racism. I acknowledge the effort you've put into transforming moonman into something marketable, but you are wrapping a gold sheet of foil around a nugget of shit. The moonman fad lacks the mocking self-awareness that other proclaimed stupid humor fads have. There is no meta-humor-like edge that makes it acceptable to enjoy in its current form. That fine line has been crossed, and thus, it is impossible for me to support it in good conscience, (or maybe I've just interpreted them to be smarter than they really are, and this one stupider than it, but I digress: I wouldn't have to dissect the fad so much if I enjoyed it at face value). The underlying theme of moonman is that taboos are intrinsically funny. They aren't. Moonman is the equivocation of racism without the political subtext to give it meaning. Calling blacks niggers without a punchline is not racial comedy. Anyone who thinks they are the same thing is missing the point. What you've done is applicable to a celebrity, or a box of cornflakes, but without the added bonus of using pop culture ironically. You've tried to develop moonman into a blank slate for the rebellious spirit, but all you've really done is make a poor man's Dr-L337.

Thank you. Seriously, this was the greatest thing anyone has ever done for me. And I love www.jaysonkacz.com too. 5 Stars, added to my favorites, I LOVE IT. I havnt had the time to check this out, or respond to any of this, so here goes:

Yes, when I was 18 years old I ripped off a few people for a few grand. They were all paid back (condition of my restitution,) and then I moved on. So did they. I went to baldwin wallace college, got a degree in computer networking. Then I got a job as an online sales manager, which I've had for about 5 years now. I also have my own company (see if you can find that, stalkmaster!) and I live pretty well. I just bought a new house, and yes, I have a new 500hp Supercharged Cadillac STS-V. I've made the videos on facebook public, as well as most of my albums:
www.facebook.com/kaczman
Check out my vids, check some new pictures of my house, theres some updated photos of me too (i've lost alot of weight!) Add me as a friend if you envy my rich lifestyle.

As for people trying to find me... we'll thats obvious. here I am. Not really in trouble for anything for quite a few years, and Im living better than most of the people out there. But again, thank you for all the publicity, and let me tell you that nothing in the world feels better than hurting someone so bad or doing so much better than someone that they go out of their way for weeks to make websites about your past, and spend their own hard earned (and i bet that shit was REALLY hard earned) money to promote them. There is no better compliment in this world.

Max, I do not like the web design treatment to the site. There are a shit ton of new features that you have put into it, but I think it's far too busy to explore them all. Im a fan of clean design and this site would do well to incorporate a modern treatment. Web 2.0 is a nonsensical term, but to me it just means clean design and good user interface utility. I like the two column approach, similar to the structure of my old design at -- http://nutnics.com/ytmnd/ -- other than that, I'm just bombarded with detail every time I visit a section of the site.

I'd love to help skin this if you want, just give me sample page and I can apply the styling. You should want the content stand out (the sites) not the site if that makes any sense, well to me the sites provide the color, and the ytmnd can provide the stage.

This update isn't any less "ytmnd" than it was on April 31st. I still have the old server/codebase/db backups, and if I really wanted to, could set up a copy of the site on April 31st. The same problems would still exist.

I think the majority of the changes to the site template are not as sacrilege as many people claim. It's one of the most complicated pieces of the site and trying to maintain random.ytmnd.com, random.ytmnd.com/random, preview, as well as preferences which change the layout, all while rolling out new features and making sure each one doesn't break is a massive headache.

Having YTMNDs load for 3 seconds doesn't take away from the experience in my view, even if your YTMND doesn't need synchronization. I think seeing a loading bar briefly is ultimately a better user experience than say, showing a "plugin needed" message when you don't have quicktime.

People have suggested making recently created the entire front page and I think it's too short sighted. It just doesn't have enough draw. There is a limit to the number of people who come here wanting to actually find a "diamond in the rough" where as it's much more likely they'll want to have their good content picked out for them (a la up and coming).

I think the biggest problem with the site isn't the front page; the front page is just a compilation trying to describe recent events on YTMND. I think the problem is the lack of any helpful way to browse YTMND when you want to go *beyond* the front page. In 2006 there was /list/, which was quite literally, a list of every site ever made, with sortable columns. This quickly became a scalability issue and was replaced with a much better search and /browse/ (which is now /sites/). These features just don't provide an understanding of the breadth of YTMND and its history.

The two most trafficked pages are the front

You aren't the first person to mention it, and I can't reproduce any problems on Chrome.

First try clearing your cache completely. Second, help me out by giving me your OS and Chrome version (little wrench icon on the right -> About Google Chrome). That will also let you know if you need an update.

I tested on IE8, Firefox 3.6, Chrome 4.1.249.1045 (42898), Opera 10.5 and Safari 4.0.4 (531.21.10). I noticed on mobile Safari (which is also a webkit browser like Safari and Chrome) lots of stuff looks broken, but I'm assuming it's because mobile Safari needs an update.

Another helpful thing you could do is on open the Chrome developer console (Ctrl+Shift+I or Ctrl+Shift+J) at the bottom left there's an icon which looks like a > with 3 lines next to it. It will turn blue when it's open. Screenshot that on a page that isn't working and it will show you if there are any errors on the page (which is probably the cause of your issue). If I can reproduce the error, I can fix it, or at least try to backport a patch to the code.

This goes for anyone having issues for Chrome, not just Keaton. I'd really like to get this all worked out before I start adding new features/resolving feature requests.

I like the new layout. The only things I'd like to see changed are the ability to see recent comments on our own sites without having to sift through all that other stuff in the feed (which still seems to be broken, because when I uncheck everything but "Recent comments on your sites" it still doesn't change what's shown). Also, a lighter background color... or maybe if there was a way to just get the comment spaces lighter (keep the black background and it's design). White text on black is a little hard on the eyes. And finally, I'd like to see the exact timing that we submit sites, rather than just the date or "Two hours ago" (it's too Facebook'ish). Other than that, I like all the new features.

I understand your frustration with people complaining. I'd be pissed too if I spent all this time on an update and tons of people had nothing but negative things to say without constructive criticism. Everyone got used to the previous "orange" design once the tiny problems had been fixed. So try to ignore all the crap and just focus on the detailed suggestions and make some tiny changes if possible. It could make a difference.

My point was, every time I change the design, people complain that it's horrendous. There's no way I'm going to launch a design everyone likes, and it's silly to dwell on it. I'm not going to rewrite 5,000 lines of CSS and tens of thousands of lines of HTML because a few people don't like the design. It's one thing if the layout is bad from a usability standpoint, as that's fixable, but it's another if you just don't like the design.

Changing the "layout" isn't difficult; Asking me to change the color scheme and the rest of the design is futile and annoying, because by the time I actually did it all the people whom this design has grown on would be complaining the new design is terrible.

And seriously, I did requests for designs MULTIPLE times over the last few years, and nobody made anything close to being a usable design. If you have such an eye for design, make a new design that's fucking spectacular, and if we use it, I'll pay you for your time, otherwise: stop harping on it or get the fuck out.

Some things that I don't like: 1) Text on top of a textured image. It's pretty "noisy" and distracting. Plus what is the background image pattern even supposed to be? It looks like some cliche art for fancy clothing or a crown royal drink. It looks like it has nothing to do with ytmnd. 2) White text on a black background. After reading it for a while it fucks with your eyes. 3) No recent comments listed for your sites. I know the "feed" will let you know when someone comments, but then you have to check the site profile page to read it instead of just looking at a box that shows the last 20 or so comments from all of your sites on a single page.

Also why is there so much pinkish red? Isn't ytmnd's color supposed to be orange?
