Featured users don't matter now that the section is removed (And I am quite glad that it is gone). Do you really have a hard time seeing how similar your style of sites are to a generic featured user? Just look at several of your top rated sites. Fad references. Many featured users make fad related sites as well, and those are there most popular. The only difference is that you never had the Featured user status. Is all this hatred for the featured users coming from blindness or just jealousy?

Suddenly there was a certain odor in the air and it wasn't perfume... I stepped out into the living room and there was doo-doo all over the living room floor. I stared at the dog in disgust. Damn dog gave me a smirk back. Out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of something I could not believe. It was my television remote control. My beloved remote control. The heart and soul of my whole reason for living. The remote control was on the floor. It had been chewed (probably in-between doo-doo's) It had been chewed so badly that the tubes inside were now on the outside. I never thought I would get to see the inner workings of my remote control. Amazingly, it still worked. (I always thought it was a quality product. We brought the dog home. It was a lovely, cute, adorable floppy eared three year old mutt. I worked the midnight shift that night. The dog stayed in the house throughout the night in the living room. Besides the extended Shawshank beginning all you're really missing is an Indiana Jones and a Planet of the Apes 2&3 reference + a bit more Superman. Youtube cuts frames so I'm probably not going to upload it there. If I was to upload it though I'd have to re-import the cut images/audio back into my original flash file and I don't feel like dealing with that at this time. Featured users are already selected by an algorithm. But that algorithm can be shaped any number of ways. Does someone who made, I dunno, say 1000 horrible sites equal to a person who makes five good ones? There's not a "correct" answer to that judgment call, just like there is no "correct" set of numbers that would make for a featured list even 50% of us would all we happy with. YTMND is different to different people, and people will always bitch about it over the internet.

apparently there was an algorithm that decided featured users at http://ytmndev.blogspot.com/2008/09/featured-users-algorithms.html but that is completely fake with users like Alas, THEN, and LEAVES do not make the requirements. The featured system is all part of the BTape-ocracy, thus explaining the fall of keaton

I did like the feature user idea but the way it is sucks. As far as I can tell there is no algorythm anymore. It's just a couple of people picking users whose sites they like. The featured user "Then" has like 2 sites with any significant views. I have over 20. If I have no idea what I'm working toward, then why try at all?
