I think that YTMND working on a video version of the unfunny truth would be worth it big time. There are so many things we could focus on rather than the few topics that Smooth was constrained too because of time constraints. I think explaining to people when you give them the video, that this is just a film that Scientology is surpressing and that they should spread it around, and then give them links to the UnFunny Truth would be a good course of action.

Eh. The acting was poor and frankly, I was hoping for a documentary. BUT the fact that Scientology has attempted to censor this means they see it as a threat. Thus, this has become another tool against their nazi ways (and I think the Nazi comparison is valid.) 5'd.

We need some Anti-Scientology Michael Moores. Crazy *ssh*l*es that can make inflammatory and intense films that involve them ambushing Scientology robots. Hopefully without you know, the bending of the truth, or the assholiness. Just someone who can focus a lot of hate and anger at the Scientologists and make something compelling.

Exactly. The problem with Authoritarian systems (like Scientology) is that they topple more easily from educating the masses then fighting, action, diplomacy does... What this means is small frys like us have the power to actually do stuff. If I made a movie about Scientology, it would be a documentary. I think that a topic this big can be expressed in a documentary and still be interesting.

I understand completely Nitros, and I hope that this definately inspires others to create their own Anti-Scientology films. They can shut up one or two low budget film makers, but what happens when there are thousands of us all throwing Anti-Scientology Films onto Google video, and YouTube? They might be able to scare one or two of us into "submission", but they can't stop us all.

Um.... not like I actually want to spend the time, but I have some pretty damn good connections and I too am 18. I could have made a better movie. The 6 I have made (short and to the point) are more interesting. If I wasn't at college, I'd gladly take up the challenge of making a Scientology Movie. Back home there's a Church of Scientology about half a mile from my house. It's probably doing well because it's in the wealthiest city in the state. Maybe next summer... or I could start over winter break

No Nitros, its the same film. What is important isn't that the film is fantastic, its that Scientology sees this little, no-budget film, by an 18 year old as a THREAT. And we should SPREAD this threat. If this can spur just one persons heart against the lies and evil of Scientology, it does its misson, and as YTMND'ers, people who care about freedom of speech above few other things, its out duty to make sure they are shown that they can't push people, especially those who create art they don't like, around.

Ok, I'm currently 50 minutes into the video... and, allow me to say this. While I plan to continue watching, I'm bored out of my mind. If we are going to spread the word, we need to understand that we need a powerful and interesting example. This movie thus far is not as useful as the "Unfunny Truth about Scientology." I would suggest that you check the video out for yourself, but be prepared to be a little bored. I'll comment as soon as I'm done with the movie.

While the quality may be low for some, this movie is a milestone in that it was made rather successfully by a young person plus it showcases some genuine problems with lower level Scientology. Just thing of it this way, one of us who is tech savvy or a good filmmaker/etc could make another. Bottom line though, the cult wants to remove this because it doesn't want people to see it. Thus spreading it to show that the cult can go f*ck itself when it tries to stiffle the truth is optimal

I think we need to find an alternate way of distribution, because if someone reads digg or watches youtube or has even had the thought to do a google search for "scientology" before getting caught up in it, then that person is probably someone who would not be fooled or is someone who has heard of the real scientology before.
