I uploaded this to the [i]ytmnd[/i] because all of the sites I saw felt like they took very little effort/time nowadays. I juggled the idea of having Guile doing a What is love head paste in there but then just decided "Fuck It"

YTMND has worked on an iPad for at least a year, and since 2.1 on iPhones too. There's a fallback HTML5 player.<br /><br />That being said, it's a shitty experience. It's too bad Apple refuses to allow sound to play without a click event, and it's too bad that Apple refuses to abide by the animation delays set in animated GIFs and instead use their own minimum of 0.25 seconds thereby ruining the integrity of any YTMND that uses animation or synchronization. There is not much love for supporting the archaic technology that makes up the foundation of YTMND.<br /><br />As for why it is still in Flash: There is no cross-browser method to ensure synchronization of animated GIFs and sound files, each browser supports different codecs (or none at all), and there is no method of getting loading status of images (and until recently sounds) on most browsers. Even what's in place is a big hack.

I don't vote much these days. I think it's childish.<br /><br />Anyway, you're probably better off that I didn't vote. I'm torn between my love of both MLP and The Iron Giant and my disappointment with the site itself. It's not 5-worthy. I decided it would be best to not vote and implicitly encourage the spread of MLP on YTMND rather than lower the site's score.<br /><br />Of course, you could ask me to vote again and I'll be glad to lower the site's score to a 3.89.

When YTMND's own Don Mclean finally adds some of his humor into his always interesting (yet rarely compelling) observations on his own love/hate relationship with the aforementioned website, the result is a YTMND which can almost be appreciated without the maker's obviously diminishing mental state seeping into the humor. Very nice - looks like we both are fans of The Grid. I tried using the cadenza from the Glass Concert Fantasy for Two Timpanis before (unlimitedpowershirt.ytmnd.com), but it was the wrong picture-sound-text combination.<br /><br />I'd love to see someone make that segment of music work -- it is truly freaky.

You guys all hook up on skype and facebook [i]outside [/i]of ytmnd to discuss ytmnd in even further depths. Bloodypython writes a blog and is in love with a girl named dragon gate, and max won't respond to lickit's pm's.<br /><br />That's a pretty good week on a so called dead website.

Everyone loves that song<br />2.) 39 seems pretty low for an unorignal sound asset<br />3.) it hasn't been used in two years<br />4.) at least I cited it<br />5.) it's half space program tribute, half eno trip micro-fad tribute<br />6.) i think overall it comes together nicely, but..<br />7.) i won't argue with you about the quality of the ytmnd, i admit that it only took a few ms to think up<br />8.) the image comes from the wikipedia article, i read it first<br />9.) i can appreciate the time it would take to make a real tribute, sadly i don't have that kind of time, note my activity over the last few years<br />10.) i can't complain about a good rating<br />I hope you feel a little better now.
