Did you get the latest Ubuntu from Windows Update? It lets you see GIFs that run longer than 5 minutes (otherwise you get a Data Execution Prevention error and you MUST RESTART so you can run Safari again).

Also, it turned out the reason those GIFs were breaking (the 16,000 frame error) was due to the fact that they use a 0ms delay. If you want your sites to work on YTMND in the future, use at least a 1ms delay (but you should really probably avoid anything under ~6ms).
