For you, YTMND is "the internets?"<br />There are other websites besides YTMND.com and all it's subdomains. There's this one website where you can read current events, and there's another one where you can watch videos "streaming." AND, they're not animated gifs. Some are even "HD."

But it's okay for the sociopathic downvoter guild to run wild. The voting system has been stacked in favor of the 1 star downvoter for years now. Takes just two to seriously skew the votes of 5 people. All you need is a few of them who stalk you and are perpetual downvoters and you are powerless against them. Most of us old timers know damn well who they are too. There's a reason now the spy takes 5 minutes to scroll where it use to take just seconds. There's a reason now the up and coming takes a long time to refresh with new sites. Also, 2-3 years ago you uploaded a YTMND called "HAPPY DEATHDAY YTMND", there was a picture of a young man keeping a Mr. Krabs plastic figurine on the lips. Sadly I don't have that photo anymore, but I remember it, he didn't look like the man you're showing now and I'm starting to think the former is you. In all truth I only discovered Justice about a week-and-a-half ago. There's a lot of shit out there, which kept me from exploring the genre more fully.<br /><br />Crystal Castles, Tobacco, Black Moth Super Rainbow... those bands really cracked electronic music open for me. I believe terrorists are driven by interests, so it seems plausible and logically easy to neutralize them, not because of what they aspire to but because of the way they want to achieve their goal. But terrorism... terrorism is a concept. How do you make a war on terrorism? It's like making a war on love! How do you make a war on something that you can barely describe? Of course it's easy to describe it as an act. But terrorism goes beyond the act, for some it's a way of life, a philosophy, that's what scares me the most. I think there should be something more than killing terrorists, they can be replaced in no time. The problem is, I still don't know what is missing. Maybe there's nothing missing and this game of capturing/killing is the only solution to the problem. Maybe the problem is not even what we commonly think it is. Maybe, but that's a little far-fetched, there's no problem at all.

Hypothesis: there is a huge overlap between these two groups: people who know every star trek episode ever filmed and people who know how to sync animated gifs with sound. Star Trek TNG being one of the most beloved things ever filmed with so many seasons to plunder... all the characters have been used so much that Picard, Riker, Data and Klingons are rich fads unto themselves, and fads that don't require knowing any YTMND history to understand.<br /><br />It could be worse - at least the correlation isn't with some other beloved defunct show like Felicity or Party of Five. <br /><br />As far as YTMND - self reference will always be a part of this site, I think.

There is a hotly contested middle ground for what is considered reusing memes and what is considered ripping off. One user will have a different take than another. I personally think that they can be one in the same. Interruption fads like Lando and Mangione aren't considered ripping off when they're used, even though they are all exactly the same picture, just with a different frame, so to speak. Technically, though, they are ripping off the first site that spawned the fad. You could even argue that the later interruption fads are ripping off of the earlier ones, but they're still considered fads. Basically, my answer to your question is that there is no bonafide answer.<br /><br />As for when it will be safe to post YTMND's in poor taste, well....I think poor taste is a characteristic that YTMND itself has acquired over the years, especially after Moon Man.
