I didn't like having to change the front page every time I wanted the custom one... maybe it was a cookie issue but it was way too impractical.

Any user A that has been here longer than 6 months, with 5 or more sites over 3.5(?) stars, can give 1 "rep" point to each user B they like, and each rep point increases the power of B's votes. 100 points make B's votes 100x stronger (or 10x if we're going logarithmic). The rep point assignments would take the form of the "favorite users" list some have wanted; as long as user A meets the rep-giving requirements, A's fav-users list will mean something. That's the system I'm thinking of. Or something.
