I see there's still a lot of debate and the users still feel the urge to express their feelings and discuss about serious issues related to this website and the community. I think it's time for me to say something too.<br />Most of you blame the decline to the quality of the sites. That's true. That's true when the sites are [b]not[/b] the reflection of what the users feel about a show, a celebrity, a cartoon. I've always said that noise sites are annoying to the point of scaring everyone. That's trolling. I know that, because this very same reason pushed me away from this site in 2006. YES! the same year I officially joined this site! I was much more happy when dickcream was online, because that was stuff worth watching. You also complain about the downvoting practice, which is unfair to say at least. That's trolling. You also complain about stupid fads (including the racist ones.) That becomes trolling when the entire platform becomes full of them and practically useless. That rings a bell, doesn't it?<br /><br />I won't express my personal reasons about the decline of this website. As you can see I just made a mostly objective list of some things that are happening on this site. If you guys are really good at looking for stuff, you maybe will find a comment I made some time ago about how this site is unmoderated: you do the math. But there's something I still need to say: blaming it on a programmer seems a little convenient to me. You can complain about a centralized management of this site, but unless you don't know how much work and hours and money you have to spend in front of a computer just to make a bunch of fat asses satisfied, you shouldn't even mention who codes this website. <br /><br />You also know that by voting you have a responsibility to be reasonable and make this website healthy. I wonder why almost nobody pointed it out!

I used to make sites on an old account back in 2006. I either forgot the password or my account was deleted. maybe I'm not even remembering the user name correctly, it has a bunch of numbers in it. Anyway, I can't find the account so I've marked it as gone. Plus, my old account sucked and I had no image editing skills back then. I only have them now because my partner and I joined a small, private server through my work (I don't know the proper name for it, I'm technology-stupid) where we upload and edit each others' video files. I've had some free time so I started making some Señor Data sites because I haven't seen a ytmnd fad in a long time and I just happened to have made this account a few weeks before it started. <br /><br />But then a bunch of people started emailing me, some asking if I am the alt of whatever user, some accusing me of being other users, telling me they will vote 1 on any site I make. they also reference things I do not understand at all. This news post has almost 800 replies worth of fighting and name calling, especially between the all of the users I was accused of being, which is weird. To be honest, it made me feel pretty uncomfortable. It all seems pretty hostile.

Now if by "moonman" you were referring to "Moon Man", the "fad" many users actually care about, then deleting Moon man sites is also certainly not a good thing to do. For starters, how are Moon man sites a problem? Please explain this to me? I have asked many raging critics of Moon man sites to explain their hatred, and none of them seem to do it adequately. All Moon man sites are marked (nsfw), so the vulgarity should not be an issue. Is it perhaps the "racism"? Let me explain something. Since the beginning of this website, the majority of YTMNDs fall into one of several categories.<br /><br />1.Cats<br />2.Racism<br />3.Gay jokes<br />4.Stupid inside jokes that only the creator and a select group of his peers understand.<br /><br />Those types of sites have some quality ones, and some shitty ones, but they all make up the majority of the types of YTMNDs. The fact is the majority of YTMND's users are underage, juvenile, immature, people who use the site on and off for a few months before disappearing forever. If you do not believe me than just click that "users" button near the top of the site and count how many of those thousands of users are still active. Not a big percentage is it?<br /><br />I do not know why many of this site's users, including yourself, think of the Moon Crew as their enemies. We do not 1 every non-Moon man site and we do not engage in any sort of hostile actives toward this website. I do not know why any user could possibly think that we would benefit from this website dying. Where would we post Moon man sites if YTMND was gone? The Moon Crew also does not want to take the administrative control of this website from you and place into our command. As much as I disagree with some of your policies, you still pay the server bills, fix the site bugs (most of which are your fault by the way, but still), and deal with other trivial website issues that the Moon Crew has no desire to take on.

As I said before, the quality issues arise from YTMND's userbase which, as I also stated before, is on average, quite stupid. However, there are good users in this field of shitty users. And those important users' sites do not just consist of the Moon Crew, they also include users like DarthWang, who made over 2000 quality YTMNDs, most of which are non-Moon man related. Back to my first point, nothing should be done about the shitty users. They are a part of this site. Can you imagine a YTMND without Umfuld or the 1000s of underage fools who make sites so bad that they are, in some ways, humorous? I seem to notice two main issues with you. You:<br /><br />1.Want to get rid of shitty YTMND users and sites en-mass<br />2.Mistake the Moon Crew for shitty users, and Moon man sites for shitty sites.<br /><br />The most important thing you need to fix, for both the sake of the Moon Crew and the site as a whole, is main issue number 1. Does YTMND have some problems, are some of those problems caused by its userbase, both yes, but does that mean that you should delete them all, no. Imagine these bad users as a tumor in body that is YTMND. These tumors are everywhere, they even make up half of YTMND's brain. Do you fix these tumors by cutting them out with a chainsaw? No, you would lose your medical license as the patient -- YTMND in this analogy -- would die due to a mix of health complications, such as massive blood loss. Maybe, if you investigate the tumors, you realize that they are a common occurrence in people with YTMND's body type (internet "creative" websites), and you also realize that they do not lead to death. Do these tumors cause some health issues every now and then, of course it is too be expected of these types of tumors, but overall it is better to leave them alone, as they are not the tumors that kill. Do you now see my point? Just leave the objectively shitty users and sites, and the sites and users who you personally see as shitty, alone.

The problem in the U.S. is that the government sector consists of two types of people:<br />-Slow, unambitious people that couldn't compete in the private sector (about 90%).<br />-Overly ambitious people with political goals who have no concern for the job they are doing, only using it as a two-year stepping stone to get their foot in the door (about 10%).<br /><br />The former is mostly bureaucratic asshats that just do the bare minimum to keep their 35-hours-a-week job and that's all they want in life. The latter is mostly lawyers. Either way, you have massive incompetence filling the lower-to-middle eschelons of the biggest consumer in the U.S. In many countries, getting a government job is seen as highly desirable - the top graduates from the top universities tend to go to government jobs because of prestige and competitive pay. Here, govt. work is seen as something "for the slow people".<br /><br />Okay, you brought up the EPA. Let's say you graduated from a top engineering school like Stanford or MIT with a degree in environmental engineering - state DEP agencies (which do most of the actual environmental protection work) pay about $20k on average. The big firms pay about $85k. You worked hard to get where you are - which job would you take?<br /><br />Yeah yeah government mandates are based upon public good - but their INTENT is not the question on either side. The problem is they simply don't perform. Okay seriousness over, national policy is not decided on YTMND so it's pointless to delve into this here.
