Home Alone 2, you mother of a sequel. Truly the most unnecessary sequel ever made in the history of sequels. Yet I have to give it credit, it's still a big part of my childhood. And it still has that Home Alone magic. I just wish it made a damn lick of sense. You have to wonder what the hell went through the film maker's heads when they were coming up with that flick. In all honesty, I've been coming to this site for over 8 years, and while there's a ton more shitty spam, the quality of the better sites from fearcondom, Zaalnog, et al is now drastically better than most of the old ones. People tend to forget this now, but most of the sites circa-2006 were cut and paste fads, like Milton + Vader + Moskau = HILARIOUS. Remember the violin fad?<br /><br />People have been saying YTMND has been dying for years. Yeah, site views are down. Of course that's going to happen with Youtube and the fact that Max never bothered to upgrade the site or develop a decent mobile app. Nine years is an eternity on the internet, and this site basically pre-dates smartphones. But just because it's 500 people viewing a site rather than 10,000 doesn't necessarily mean that we can't enjoy it.<br /><br />Oh, and fartbuttKKK.

I think the reason why people didn't like G.I. Joe: Retaliation much is because Duke dies in the opening scene. I myself didn't like it not only because of Duke dying, but Cobra Commander getting away at the end.

I've always believed that the only thing significant in the universe is the individual unto itself. Meaning is personal and only resides inside a person's own mind. Meaning isn't a universal, divine altruism. It's a chemical reaction in the brain that gives an organism a sense of well-being. For most people, as you pointed out, meaning requires some kind of eternal validation such as a god, a soul or everlasting spirit that exists outside the body. And without this validation, most people do feel despair, that all their experiences and legacies are for not. But I disagree with that notion. I embrace nothingness and find comfort in the idea that nothing matters outside my own perceptions. Whether I do "good", or whether I do "bad", I will not be judged at some pearly gate to be rewarded or punished for an eternity. However, I am still grateful for my temporary, meaningless existence and I find it absolutely fascinating that the universe, through random chaos and epochs of time, formed this body with a brain that allows the universe to know about itself - if only abstractly and for a brief moment in time. A person should not despair that the world will end when it is swallowed by the sun or destroyed by an asteroid, eliminating our progeny, should we not colonize the outer reaches. A person should not despair that their brain's death extinguishes their consciousness forever. A person should only despair if they are in pain, or starving or if someone they love is in pain through empathy. While I find religion amusing and ridiculous, I am also grateful for it's existence, as we would probably not be civilized without it. Religion has given hope to and controlled the behavior of what would otherwise been savage anarchy. But with the NSA and other modern technologies, behavior control no longer needs religion. So rejoice my meaningless brethren, for tomorrow we die.
