I dunno, I listened to his commentary on First Blood and he contradicts himself quite a bit. At first he says that he found his "poncho" out in the woods while filming because he was tired of getting cuts and scrapes. Then he says that the wardrobe department made several ponchos. Then he mentions that he has the poncho hanging in his closet at home. There seems to be a lot of inconsistent Rambo poncho lore. I wouldn't be surprised if he had conflicting 50 cal research.
