you know, in a sense the command banana that you buy in the store today is designed by humans. In fact, they have been cross breed so much over time that they cannot reproduce on their own anymore, they are all basically clones of the same plant putting them in danger of going extinct. A "wild" plantain is not so "well designed" for human consumption (tends to be smaller, harder to peel and have seeds).

It should be noted that the Banana we're used to, the Cavendish, is a special dessert banana that is bred specifically to be eaten. It is genetically "too perfect" and would die off if it weren't for human domestication. "Natural" bananas are actually hard, terrible tasting and have huge seeds.. not really the type for human eating.. they also have a reddish-brown peel when they're ripe. So the only you proved is that humans have created their own perfect fruit by evolutionary change, way to go.
