Sent to Earth to destroy a powerful demonic entity known as "the Raven", Kory sustained temporary amnesia in a car-crash and forgot her mission. Unknowingly befriending her target, she decided to protect Rachel, and teamed up with Dick Grayson and Gar Logan to destroy the Organization. She became Dick Grayson's lover at this time. Kory soon began regaining some of her memories and learned of her true nature as well as her target's father, Trigon. Later gathering with Dick's other vigilante allies to confront Trigon, Kory became one of the victims trapped in the demon's false reality, before being freed and witnessing Rachel defeating her father. Kory then moved to Chicago and partnered with Donna Troy for a time before rejoining the Titans in San Francisco, where she helped in stopping their old enemy Deathstroke and reunited with old flame Faddei; warned of Blackfire's return, Kory was forced to kill Faddei after her sister, who revealed herself as responsible for their parents' deaths, mind-controlled him. Kory later reconciled with Blackfire after the Titans visit to Gotham following the death of Jason Todd and subsequent battles against his Red Hood persona and alliance with Scarecrow. Kory sought to understand her new powers and the truth of her destiny; as prophesized by her people her entire life and how the red moon, Brother Blood, and visions of a little girl with a red balloon play into it. After accepting her destiny, Kory's power transformed and she was able to destroy Brother Blood. After returning to San Francisco, Kory began a relationship with Dick Grayson, and the two prepared for a future together as the Titans disbanded.

Seven years later in 1994, she and the others were in New York City when Optimus witnessed the activation of the transwarp key. The Autobots regrouped in a warehouse to find Mirage had taken in a stowaway, Noah Díaz, who Arcee researched and discovered his past as a soldier. Arcee confirmed the existence of the transwarp key in the museum on Ellis Island, and the group realized they could use it to return to Cybertron. Arcee pointed out they couldn't take the key themselves without evading detection, but Mirage convinced Noah to steal the key for them, despite the group's misgivings. Arcee helped stakeout the museum during Noah's infiltration, only for the Terrorcons to arrive in force. Arcee was knocked out of the fight by the burly Battletrap, and the group lost Bumblebee to Scourge's blade. The group was saved by the timely arrival of Airazor, who explained Scourge had only taken half of the key, and Arcee convinced Elena Wallace to help lead them to the remaining half in Peru after encouraging her with the knowledge she'd be saving two worlds in the process. On the flight to Peru aboard Stratosphere, Arcee wondered if the slain Bumblebee could be revived with an Energon treatment, but Optimus lamented that they likely couldn't without returning to Cybertron. The group linked up with Wheeljack and Arcee rode inside his vehicle mode as they took positions keeping watch while Noah and Elena hunted for the key. The Terrorcons arrived and engaged the Autobots in battle. While Wheeljack drove, Arcee provided some firepower in her robot mode, but once again Battletrap took her and Wheeljack out of the fight by making them tumble down a mountainside in the ensuing car chase. Arcee regrouped with the others when they confronted the Maximals, aiming at Cheetor until Airazor defused the stand-off. When Scourge obtained the complete key and began to bring Unicron to Earth, Arcee took part in the battle against the Terrorcons and their Predacon reinforcements. Though Arcee's speed and blasters served her well, things looked grim when Unicron appeared in the sky and the Autobot-Maximal alliance began to be submerged by the sheer numbers of their enemy. Arcee was aghast when Optimus declared his intention to sacrifice himself to destroy the portal bringing forth Unicron, but luckily, Noah and Optimus Primal saved Optimus and the day from the Chaos Bringer.

She senses Leeloo's presence behind a wall down the hallway. Turning to one of her companions and communicating quietly, she sends the companion to tell Leeloo that she is happy she is here and she will give her what she came for. The Diva is next seen in the opera hall, giving what turned out to be her final performance. She sings a slow, melancholy melody at first, that suddenly becomes more upbeat and impressive as she delivers talent that evokes a standing ovation from the crowd. Later, the Diva is shot through the abdomen while still on stage by invading Mangalores. She falls, with Korben reaching to her and pulling her down to the floor behind the seats. Encouraging her to stay awake, he implores her to tell him where the stones are. She tells him about Leeloo's strength, and that she is more fragile than she appears, requiring both his love and support to complete her mission. She informs him with her dying breath that the stones were "...in me." Korben deciphers this to mean that the stones were literally being housed inside her, being able to access them by reaching through the bullet hole in her abdomen and pulling them out. Attending Charm School in the United States of America, Harleen Quinzel rebelled against the decorum and restraint expected of women of the era. Together the duo "robbed from the rich and gave to whoever" but "Mistah J" quickly became more and more dark as their thefts continued and he became interested in the occult. Seeking out the "Belle of the Bog" (Barbara Gourdon) in the bayou of Louisiana Harleen left her love when she decided that she didn't wish to become a monster. Becoming a talented doctor specializing in psychology, Harleen practised at the Arkham Ward; Sanitarium for the Criminally Insane, in London due to being kept from working in more auspicious hospitals due to her gender and her past involvement with crime. On December, 1940, Harleen was tending to Shondra Kinsolving; one of her patients who was once a doctor and colleague of Harleen's who worked at the Ward, during one of the city's wartime blackouts on christmas. Suffering from nightmares, Shondra revealed to Harleen that she was dreaming of London being overrun by humanoid, shadow monsters, and a long-toothed, laughing man whispering a message for Harley to "Come find him". Hearing this message makes Harleen have a mental breakdown and arise with her face transformed in clown makeup and exhibiting enhanced agility. Leaving the hospital, Harleen crashes a christmas dance party where she causes grief amongst the English soldiers when she steals the women in the party for herself to dance with. Observing as her attempts lead to a bar fight, Aviation Officer Hal Jordan introduces himself to Harleen and is quickly seduced by the female doctor as she has him lead her to his plane in Whitemore airfield whereupon she steals his key, knocks him out and hijacks his plane to fly to Berlin where she believed her "beau" to be. Three miles from Calais over the English Channel, Harleen's plane is shot down by German infantry and she crash lands in the greenhouse of Pamela Ysley; a smuggler who worked for Selina Digatti until the Germans seized her hometown of Calais three months earlier. As part of a plan of vengeance, Pamela sold her luxurious items to the occupying Nazis forces and then one night brewed a perfume so sweet that it made the Nazis drowsy and gave Pamela her chance to kill them. But an unexpected side effect to the perfume turned Pamela's skin green. As she was in the process of vacating the house after learning of France's surrender to Germany, Harleen convinces Pamela to leave with her to Berlin; killing Nazi soldiers as they drove through occupied towns. Reaching Berlin a few days after the Battle of Britain and Nazi Germany's attempted use of Tenebrae undead to bolster their army, Harleen and Pamela break into the "Cabaret of the Joker's Daughter" only to discover that the Joker's Daughter had lured Harleen there posing as "Mistah J". Revealing that she intended to bring her master back by having him possess Pamela's body, Harleen cuts off the Joker's Daughter's hand and escapes with Pamela to "The Cat's Cradle"; a smugglers den used by Pamela and Selina Digatti to store their smuggled goods 20-25 meters below Berlin. While growing an underground garden to provide food beneath the city, the duo run into Raven, Zatanna Zatara and John Constantine; who were also fleeing from the Joker's Daughter, and soon afterward, Kate Kane, Renee Montoya and Selina Degatti; who were preparing to use the tunnels in a mission to smuggle Jews out of a Berlin Ghetto.
