Sonny Kiss debuted in Impact Wrestling on October 21, 2023 at Bound for Glory as a participant in the 20-person Intergender Call Your Shot Gauntlet match. Kiss eliminated Gisele Shaw but then was eliminated by Brian Myers and Matt Cardona. On the November 16 episode of Impact!, Kiss challenged the Knockouts World Champion Trinity in a non-title match, however, was unsuccessful. In 2013, Kiss became a certified yoga instructor.

Nagisa Shiota is the main protagonist and narrator of Assassination Classroom. He is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School who has a natural talent for assassination despite his overall passive nature. Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat (whose working title was Pirates of Skull Cove) is a 2002 action-adventure video game developed by Westwood Studios and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The game takes place in the year 1762 and focuses on the adventures of Katarina de Leon. Leon's father is the Pirate Isles governor (Marcus de Leon) and her mother is the Pirates of Skull Cove leader (Mara Rousseau). Leon sails the Five Seas in search of her mother’s grave, and to take revenge against Captain Hawke for killing her father. Kat must search for the mystical Chartstones to get to Hawke which requires her braving the dangerous and savage islands of the Five Seas infested with Hawke’s men, the Crimson Guard. Throughout the game, Kat confronts dangerous creatures and savages, completes quests for island inhabitants in return for help, wage naval battles against the Crimson Guard, collect magical objects and artifacts, booty and unearth buried treasure which she can use to upgrade her ship. She also discovers the truth about her mother, Mara, and ultimately avenges her father’s death by defeating the evil Captain Hawke.

Olivia Nuzzi, the political journalist who allegedly developed a "personal relationship" with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the campaign trail, has left New York magazine amid the fallout from their scandal. On Oct. 21, New York revealed in a statement that Nuzzi, 31, is no longer employed by the outlet, one month after she was placed on leave following allegations that she grew close to Kennedy while covering his independent presidential campaign. The statement said that New York and Nuzzi agreed to "part ways" despite a third-party review concluding that she did not show signs of bias in her reporting. "Last month, the magazine enlisted the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine to review Olivia Nuzzi’s work during the 2024 campaign," the magazine's statement reads. "They reached the same conclusion as the magazine’s initial internal review of her published work, finding no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias." The statement continued: "Nevertheless, the magazine and Nuzzi agreed that the best course forward is to part ways. Nuzzi is a uniquely talented writer and we have been proud to publish her work over her nearly eight years as our Washington Correspondent. We wish her the best."

On 8 December 2024, the Syrian Arab Republic under Bashar al-Assad collapsed amid major offensives by the Syrian opposition (led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and supported by allied Turkish-backed rebel groups in the Syrian National Army) as part of the Syrian civil war that began in 2011. The fall of Damascus marked the end of the Assad family regime, which had ruled Syria as a totalitarian hereditary dictatorship since Hafez al-Assad assumed the presidency in 1971 as a result of the Corrective Revolution. As the Southern Operations Room, a rebel coalition, encroached on Damascus while attempting to find the former president, reports emerged that Assad had fled the capital on a plane. The Syrian rebels subsequently declared victory against the Assad government on state television, while Russia's foreign ministry announced Assad's resignation and departure from Syria. Russia subsequently reported that it had given Assad and his family asylum.
