Nagisa Shiota is the main protagonist and narrator of Assassination Classroom. He is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School who has a natural talent for assassination despite his overall passive nature. Nagisa is the son of Hiromi Shiota and her presumable ex-husband. His mother had hoped for a daughter so she could experience all the things she had missed as a child through her but got a son instead. Soon after starting the new term as a Class E student, Nagisa met Kaede Kayano, who gave him what would become his signature pigtails instead of the ponytail he usually uses to keep his long hair from being less noticeable, thus beginning their friendship.

On 7 October 2023, during the Re'im music festival massacre, Shani Nicole Loukwas killed. Shortly after the attack, a video circulated showing her body paraded through the streets of Gaza by Hamas militants in the back of a pickup truck. Described by security experts and commentators as Hamas's social media propaganda, it became one of the first viral videos of the Israel–Hamas war. At the end of the month, Israel confirmed Louk's death based on the discovery of a skull fragment on the road leading out of the festival grounds, indicating that she was killed during the attack, while trying to escape. It is a live-action adaptation of the original animated series, The Powerpuff Girls that aired on Cartoon Network from 1998 to 2005. On May 24, 2021, it was announced that the pilot was going to be re-developed. The CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Brian Thompson, was fatally shot in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning, according to a police report, New York Times reported. Thompson, 50, was walking towards the New York Hilton Hotel, dressed in a suit and tie, to attend a UnitedHealthcare conference being held in the hotel’s ballroom, when a gunman opened fire from approximately 20 feet away, striking Thompson multiple times in the chest. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD reported.
