Green is the sixth studio album by the American alternative rock band R.E.M. and their first release for Warner Bros. Records. Released in November 1988, the album continued to explore political issues both in its lyrics and packaging. To promote Green, the band embarked on an 11-month world tour and released four singles: "Orange Crush", "Stand", "Pop Song 89", and "Get Up". Background and recording With the release of Document in 1987, R.E.M. fulfilled its contract with I.R.S. Records. Frustrated that its records did not see satisfactory overseas distribution, in early 1988 the band told I.R.S. head Jay Boberg that it was leaving the label. Guitarist Peter Buck also explained that his group felt it was being pressured to sell well by I.R.S., yet felt I.R.S.'s distributor MCA Records did not consider the ensemble a priority. R.E.M.'s management then approached any record companies that expressed interest in the band. Though other labels offered more money, R.E.M. ultimately signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records—reportedly between $6 million and $12 million—due to the company's assurance of total creative freedom. In light of its move to a major label, the band became defensive in interviews about accusations from some fans who claimed it was selling out. R.E.M. began the album process by recording demos at Robbie Collins' Underground Sound Recording Studio in Athens, Georgia. Bill Berry, Peter Buck and Mike Mills recorded the basic tracks in two configurations: (1) guitar, bass, and drums and (2) percussion, mandolin, and accordion. The demos were mixed by Robbie Collins, Buren Fowler (guitar tech for Pete Buck and later member of Drivin' & Cryin'), and David LaBruyere (later bassist for Vic Varney, Michelle Malone, and John Mayer) and presented to R.E.M. management. Michael Stipe used these recordings for his vocal arrangements. The band recorded the studio album at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, with Scott Litt producing. Music In a 1988 interview, Peter Buck described Green as an album that didn't feature any typical R.E.M. songs. Describing the band's standard output as "Minor key, mid-tempo, enigmatic, semi-folk-rock-balladish things", the guitarist noted that for Green, "We wrote major key rock songs and switched instruments." Singer Michael Stipe had reportedly told his bandmates to "not write any more R.E.M.-type songs". Bassist Mike Mills argued that Green was an experimental record, resulting in an album that was "haphazard, a little scattershot". Band biographer David Buckley wrote, "[S]onically, Green is all over the place, the result being a fascinatingly eclectic album rather than a unified artistic move forward". Green was reputedly envisioned as an album where one side would feature electric songs and the other, acoustic material, with the plan failing to come to fruition due to a lack of acoustic songs deemed fit for release. David Buckley highlighted three main musical strands on Green: "ironic pop songs" like "Stand" and "Pop Song 89", harder-hitting tracks such as "Orange Crush" and "Turn You Inside-Out", and "pastoral acoustic numbers" that had Peter Buck playing mandolin, with "The Eleventh Untitled Song" singled out as an anomaly. Buck had become fond of playing acoustic music with his friends in that period, and thus purchased an "oddly-shaped Italian mandolin-cum-lyre" in 1987; he would play the instrument on three of the tracks on Green. From this period onward, R.E.M. would swap instruments among members, and on Green the group also incorporated accordion, cello, and lap steel guitar.

Facebook instituted its biggest executive shakeup in its 15-year history this week, appointing new leaders for WhatsApp, Messenger and Facebook’s core app while giving other longtime Facebook executives new responsibilities, including a new effort to tackle blockchain technology. The moves, which were announced internally to employees today, are meant to improve executive communication and user privacy, but the changes also come as Facebook contends with the backlash from the U.S. presidential election, revelations of manipulation by the Russian government and the recent Cambridge Analytica scandal. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has reorganized the social giant’s product and engineering organizations into three main divisions, including a new “Family of apps” group run by Chief Product Officer Chris Cox, the executive previously in charge of the core Facebook app. Cox will now oversee Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, according to multiple sources, four social apps with a combined reach of more than five billion monthly users. Facebook is also building a new team dedicated to blockchain technology. David Marcus, the executive in charge of Facebook’s standalone messaging app, Messenger, is leaving that post to run the blockchain group, these sources said. That new team will fall under one of the other three divisions, referred to as “New platforms and infra,” which will be managed by CTO Mike Schroepfer. Facebook’s AR, VR and artificial intelligence efforts will also live under Schroepfer’s division. Longtime Facebook exec Javier Olivan, the company’s VP of growth, will oversee the third division, called “Central product services,” which includes all of the shared features that operate across multiple products or apps such as ads, security and growth. Surprisingly, no one appears to be leaving Facebook. Just a lot of old faces in new places. Crown Princess Koriand'r (born c. 1991, year 9481 on Tamaran), anglicized as Kory Anders and codenamed Starfire, is an extraterrestrial warrior crown princess from the far-off planet Tamaran, the firstborn daughter of King Myand'r and Queen Luand'r, and the elder sister of Komand'r/Blackfire. Sent to Earth to destroy a powerful demonic entity known as "the Raven", Kory sustained temporary amnesia in a car-crash and forgot her mission. Unknowingly befriending her target, she decided to protect Rachel, and teamed up with Dick Grayson and Gar Logan to destroy the Organization. She became Dick Grayson's lover at this time. Kory soon began regaining some of her memories and learned of her true nature as well as her target's father, Trigon. Later gathering with Dick's other vigilante allies to confront Trigon, Kory became one of the victims trapped in the demon's false reality, before being freed and witnessing Rachel defeating her father. Kory then moved to Chicago and partnered with Donna Troy for a time before rejoining the Titans in San Francisco, where she helped in stopping their old enemy Deathstroke and reunited with old flame Faddei; warned of Blackfire's return, Kory was forced to kill Faddei after her sister, who revealed herself as responsible for their parents' deaths, mind-controlled him. Kory later reconciled with Blackfire after the Titans visit to Gotham following the death of Jason Todd and subsequent battles against his Red Hood persona and alliance with Scarecrow. Kory sought to understand her new powers and the truth of her destiny; as prophesized by her people her entire life and how the red moon, Brother Blood, and visions of a little girl with a red balloon play into it. After accepting her destiny, Kory's power transformed and she was able to destroy Brother Blood. After returning to San Francisco, Kory began a relationship with Dick Grayson, and the two prepared for a future together as the Titans disbanded.

Judith Anastasia "Judy" Funnie (born March 22nd, 1975) is the older sister of Doug Funnie. She's often depicted as being (overly) dramatic, is usually seen wearing only purple and black, and rarely takes off her beret or her sunglasses. Judy was born some 16 years ago in Bloatsburg to Phil and Theda Funnie. It was five years later she gained a little brother of her own. She moved into Bluffington alongside her family. At 16 years old, Judy is the oldest child in her family and while she's never particularly rebellious, she's very dramatic (due to being an actress) and often difficult to deal with. However, she's very intelligent and artistic and therefore attends the Moody School, a school for artistically talented teenagers. Judy is sometimes tapped to give or direct performances at Bluffington Elementary, and although Doug initially dreads these events out of fear that Judy will embarrass him (as she has done in the past), Judy's productions usually turn out to be well received. Heleena Häyhä was born July 8th, 2015 making her 27yrs old as od 2042. She was born in Finland. Her father remarried to her mother who immigrated from Turkey. She had four half brothers from her fathers first marriage. Her father was a harshly abusive alcoholic and her brothers regularly harassed her over being from a different mother. Her mother ran off when she was 14 not being able to handle the abuse any longer. Heleena developed a very strong constitution due to fighting her father and brothers all the time. When she was 17 she too had enough and ran off. Wandering the streets without any idea what to do. Until a Gypsy ran circus that toured Europe came around. She joined them taking any odd job she could get. Cleaning up mostly. One day a very large Russian man, Ivan Svorsky approached her and offered to train her noticing her reslove and stone attitude. First training to be the Strong Woman of the show since he began to be a bear wrestler. When Ivan was brutally injured by a bear during a show she took the beast on herself and accidentally killed it. Rather than being angry Ivan was proud and made her the new bear wrestling attraction while he recovered. When she was 24 she began finding new paths into professional fighting and wrestling to make more money. When Ivan passed away from cancer when she was 25, she left the circus and moved to the US to pursue her new fighting career. Now she hops promotion to promotion for MMA and Professional Wrestling. Wanting to be an example to all that no matter the struggle you experience, so long as you keep fighting, you never truly lose. You never lose until you quit and give up.
