thanks for letting me know... was it 'ripped off' directly or do you think it was made by someone from a popular site like somethingawful and both of them saw it?

I have no idea who Dewey is, but the graphix are completely different. Verdict --> innocent!

Not taken from anywhere, I made it up, and I posted it here. I submitted it as a letter to the editor of my local paper too (the Post Standard).

It's not stolen, just the same concept. Kiss and make up. K?

How can it be the same concept if he made up the picture?

He didn't. They each created a different modified Dewey picture - independently. One went with the standard "fails at life" + Price is Right music the other chose new music and naming convention. Same concept, different execution.

OK I personally think that sounds a bit too convenient (and coincidental) but, I can't exactly prove you wrong. I'm changing my votes on each site to 3 until someone, somewhere, sorts this thing out.

MS, we've been fooled. Look closely at both pictures. Mainly, this was just idea theft, if anything.

dood sorry your post didn't do as well, but we had independent trains of thought. I'm reporting you to Internet police http://jut.net/weblog/data/dewey_truman_mission_accomplished.jpg http://hailtopurple.com/av/truman.JPG http://bbuchs.f2o.org/archives/

Tojiarasaki didn't "fool" anyone. He said he'd posted the same gag earlier, not that it'd been stolen. The older examples cited by hypoplg don't seem to get that Truman is holding an incorrect report of his own defeat, which was based on journalists jum
