it costs more energy to make fuel from biomass than it does from fossil fuels. thus you have a net loss of energy and a net increase in fossil fuel burning (power plants). But anyways, nice work.

Ethanol is bullsh*t. Only way you could get a positive energy balance is with sugarcane in tropical ares. And it will only be at all cost effective if you pay the farmers nothing and farm so intensively as to destroy the land. All the major energy proposals floating out there seem like bullsh*t; hydrogen is inferior to batteries for an automotive fuel no matter how you measure it (cost, scalability, infrastructure, environmental impact, etc.). Good site though.
