I didn't really say anything about other albums such as all the Analogue Bubble Baths or the Analords though

5 for Rich. Saw him play a few years ago, dream come true, best f*king rave EVAH. All other DJs lose upon comparison.

You recommend "Drukqs" ? that just says it all. The golden age of IDM (or armchair electronic or prog techno or whatever you enjoy calling it) has long passed. But at least you're not comparing RDJ to Venetian Snares.

Nice. I'm a huge Aphex Twin fan. But I don't like your use of "Pappy". It's plain "Come To Daddy", and the remix is the "Mommy" version. Drukqs is Aphex Twin's most awesome album, and I suggest it as a #1 over any of his others for first-time listeners. Again, thanks for a cool YTMND.

Oh and yes, Venetian Snares is another great Canadian artist which goes by Breakcore (same thing as Drill & Bass but he rather his style be called Breakcore). Kind of more random and ear-shattering than Aphex Twin though...

lot of pretense in that statement, boomaga. IDM is different now, and the drill'n'bass now is as good as it ever was. just because it's by different artists or bears remote similarity to what's been produced before doesn't make it any lesser. fact is, there's not a lot of new ground to be broken.

Also, make sure you tell people to correctly label the artist. AFX=Aphex Twin=Caustic Window=Polygon Window=Mike&Rich=PowerPill Pacman, but you need to get your sh*t straight.

I'll be honest, sexymofo was the one who got me into Aphex Twin. Once I heard "Peak", I was hooked and bought SAW Volumes I and II and "...I Care Because You Do", which you didn't mention at all. Alberto Balsalm is awesome.

ALSO: It's not aphex "twins" and the only popcorn remix aphex twin did is on the caustic window album and not any of the ones you people have posted before.

Thats the first time I noticed I put a D instead of a B in rhubarb, my b. Also I just put songs I thought people just listening to afx would like, of course there are many many others.
