back in the day there was no need to ever use GigaWatt in spoken word, because MegaWatt was basically the highest that would be used, remember the movie was made a while ago... "Jiga" was the correct way of pronouncing it at the time... but overtime things change, now adays its pronounced "giga"

It's always been spelled 'giga' When the gigabyte became common, people started incorrectly pronouncing it 'giga' instead of 'jiga' and it just stuck.
