well, the joke here is that the support column's adventure is just being a support column in a different attic. i emailed back the criterion people and they were so floored that the floorboards in the room warped out and became embedded into a different floor far away. the floor literally disappeared beneath them. on the ground, in place of the old floorboards were the criterion people, floored.
