and the complaints come marching in

As many of you have noticed by the anti-ebaum sentiment, last night things seemed to reach boiling point.
I tried to stop this all when it was a snowball, but it just turned into an avalanche. I'd like to make an open statement to the community, in regards to DDoS. Don't do it. It sets a whole new precedent and will not end well, it affects a lot more than just ebaum sworld and really crosses the line.
I think there is a general distaste for ebaumsworld in the internet community and things just exploded last night. While I never supported or condoned the attacking anything, I was amazed to see so many communities come together for a vulgar display of power. I think there is something to be said for communities coming together for a common goal, even if it is over something so petty.
Soon the YTMND forums will be back up and I'm sure at that point the ebaumers will get a chance to strike back at our little community and the circle of life will be complete. Until that time, since I know I can't persuade you guys to stop, at least keep it legal.
I now have a ton of clean-up work to do. If you see any "DDoS" or "Ping" related YTMNDs, please use the report this site feature so I can delete them.

"The Day I Lose All Respect For The Internet"
There's nothing wrong with Ebaum's World and there's nothing wrong with YTMND, just let it die. Ebaum's world isn't going to attack you're forums like you did ours. I would advise you to check out Sunshineandlove.ytmnd.com and relax! It's just the internet!
The war
has just begun
We haven't
yet...
And YTMND
Will be
attacked
Because of this
Stop the YTMNDs that show how to ping and DDose
because they can use that against us
Spam their forum where they tell eachother about it
Start an account that doesn't look liek it was from a YTMND member, and be careful
I want to wiegh in on the debate, I'll say this from the massive spread of anti-ebaumsworld that in itself will damage the hit rate on his sight in the future. The ping of death aka DDOS, will only harm it so long a temporary ailment to the site, people that have it bookmarked will probably not even know it's being attacked. As they may have pages not affected by the porn spam hacks. I do think this is going to give him a large amount of hits but, the guy is already branded an idiot to countless other people on the YTMND site that in time will dwindle the hit rates. I think it was wrong for him to steal content and make a big buck off it, and in the long run this will actually NOT hurt YTMND but, actually help YTMND, as more people are curious as to what all this tom foolery is about. Thus discovering YTMND.com, there might even come a retentive lawyer claiming COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT!! God help that poor sap. But, all and all it's a good fad to follow up on and watch for entertainment.
Christ, a DoS attack is free for us, but the retaliation could cost us YTMND. It's just not worth it, which is why, for example, SA forums has a policy against planned forum invasions, even though they've been way more stolen from than YTMND. Because they are a well-organized Internet community, and when people pull this sh*t, it proves that we aren't.
Ebaumsworld is doing exactly what someone does when they download pirated music, movies, or games. The only difference being, these companies are huge, have lots of money, and expensive laywers. The origonal content creators do not have these resources.
What is needed is some sort of internet content creators alliance. We have the same rights as these big corporations do, we simply do not have the money or manpower. But if there was to be some sort of alliance among everyone releasing origonal content to the internet, we may have some legal power.
from the ebw forum- in the article it sayd the the ebaumers will get a chance to strike back at your little community, yea we'll have the chance, but we're not going to. i dont know wats goin on over here but over there if anybody plans a forum invasion they will be PERM. banned, which has happend several times before. our forum was back up within 8 hours of the invasion so yea u had ur 8 hours of laughes but u didn't "win" anything except for ur 8 hours of laughes. ha ha. over here we feel that forum invasions are just really immature, and sure u might get a few people that'll be like "ebw all teh way lolz" but their probably 11 years old. and on a second note, we at the forum dont control what ebaum puts on his site, so it doesn't really make sense why you would do that to the forum because 1. this isn't goint to affect what eric puts on his site 2. you didn't affect the forum at all (its back up) go ahead and ban me now if u want but i just wanted to make all of this clear
Oh yeah and guys, some people are listing all of eBaums Worlds copyright infringements and are going to send them to the FBI and eBaums World's site's host.
So basically, in a few months Eric Bauman will be sent to court and his site will be erased.
I hope you n00bs at ebaumsworld.com had a good time, because it ain't gonna be around much longer.
Thing is, Eric Bauman is currently sitting in a really, really, really expensive chair laughing his *ss off at our futile attempts to try and take down his site. This guy has more money than God, so to speak, and some extra DDoS attacks are just going to cause him to sign a check to buy 35 more servers and more bandwith. Also, keep in mind that, being the *sshole that he is, he's probably working up schemes (or rather, paying people to think of schemes for him, although probably not paying them at all) to get back ytmnd.com. Stop the madness before it brings down this site. We can't make him fight a war of attrition because he doesn't have to, and that's all we have.
Call me unimpressed. Ebaums has had more REAL users on before than were on for that raid. I'm all for destroying ebaums, but because it sucks, not over some intellectual property "YOU STOLE MY INTERNET JOKE" bullsh*t. Do we really need to create a vigilante RIAA that cares about stupid animated gifs? Destroy it 'cause it's boring - not for any other reason.
Seeing us all team up last night was amazing. YTMND, SomethingAwful, 4Chan, LUE/LL, Fark, and I heard rumors of people from Newgrounds. Some of those people (SomethingAwful) were only involved in the first bit, and then backed off, but still...
EbaumsWorld is going down! We gotta rise up from the underground, and tell Eric Bauman a think or two about how stealing isn't cool, so right now we're making that our mission, and if the bastard doesn't listen, we'll get sick of being lawful and brand his *ss with Something Awful!
