to clarify my statement

In the last two days people have really been crossing the line when it comes to this whole charade. It's one thing to post on the forums or send emails showing your dissatisfaction. When you cross the lines of legality and start ddosing, pinging, bonking, leeching servers, sending death threats, visiting these people in person, you not only subject yourself to harsh legal punishments, but by doing so in "the name of YTMND", you subject me, YTMND and my hosting company to the same legal scrutiny.
You guys got your point across. You got some huge press, and he definitely knows you exist and aren't happy with him. That being said, you are not going to accomplish anything but the demise of YTMND and possibly legal liability by continuing to attack his site. So please, stop.
I am not doing this because I have received threats, I am doing this for the good of the community. You are steering YTMND down a treacherous path, one which once traveled down far enough, we wont be able to come back.
You all helped created YTMND and I feel like it's just as much yours as it is mine. You have the power to destroy it or make it something great, it's up to you.
That being said, stay safe, stay legal, and for all that is holy stop making googlefight sites, because they are really not funny.

I got deleted here, banned on the livechat permanently, AND their forums. I get my purple heart. And a big fat commendation..............and a million dollars.....................in real life................................THANKS FOR THE DONATION, MAX! :) hahaha, just kidding................
But seriously, I'm expecting the money.* *Note: This is just a joke.
Don't overestimate lawyers. They're not omnipotent, even if their sole purpose in life is to persecute others for their clients' benefit. Mostly, they only tackle fights they can win and win efficiently. Doing illegal stuff is bad, but not because Bauman has lawyers. Doing illegal stuff is bad because it's against the f*cking law. You don't need some internet nerd's team of lawyers to prevent you from robbing a candy store, so why do you need them to prevent you from DDoS attacking his website?
Well, according to the United States constitution, as written by our forefathers, the freedoms stated within the Bill of Rights extend to the point of interferring with another's natural rights...so yes, even by our right to speech, we would still be in the wrong by calling him a wanker, or a bastard, or a complete schmuck, or a loser, or a thief, or a spawn of Satan. Any one of those, including lines that question Eric Bauman's sexual preference by calling him a giant queer, religious affiliation by calling him a Satanic bastard, or impede on his right to choice by calling him a no-talent assclown, any one of these technically exceed the natural rights.
Comrades! The time has come to search out a stronger leader for the clan! One with a brave soul and a hard spirit! One who will lead us to victory in the hax0r wars! Let us dispose of the weakling, and assign from amongst ourselves a leader worthy to lead us all to victory.
Come gentlemen. The time is nigh. The hour is here. The glory of YTMND beckens!
heres a ytmnd of a few who visited his office
http://llvisit.ytmnd.com/
it wont last long obviously. i believe there were others who lurked around, but noone went to his actual house. then again maybe they wisely kept quiet about it.
enough bricks through the window and flaming dogpoop on the porch etc, and maybe he would start thinking a little harder about stealing others creations for personal profit. maybe a lot harder.
not that i support such action, OF COURSE, im just thinking aloud. its a road ytmnd as a community musn't go down. any attachment of 'ytmnd' or usernames to actions like that would provide a link to us to follow.
get my point?
its time to stop this ineffectual internet action. nothing anyone ever did on the internet achieved anything.

I can verify those AIM names as being the real deal. MGUnit is a f*ggot mod for eBaum (I know this from when I did stuff with SomethingAwful) and ebaum187 speaks for itself. But for the love of god, don't do anything in the name of YTMND. What you do on your own is your own god damned business, don't get YTMND involved.
From a bystander's point of view, it was a classic showing of internet brotherhood. I enjoyed watching it all unfold. The only thing I don't understand about the whole thing is why Ebaumsworld is so stubborn about taking images/videos down if someone asks them to? Seems like they really brought it upon themselves after that. Anyways, keep up the good work folks...can't wait for the next kickass fad!
Wow... Reading this makes me believe that some missed Max's point.
Thing is, and I'll reiterate what Max said. Some folk have crossed the line with this, and I fully expect a purge to happen when those responsible are found out. We aren't Vigilantes, guys. Two wrongs do not make a right.
For those of us who did the right thing, and dispensed true YTMND justice by slamming our enemy here, and only here... I say...
WE'RE THE MAN NOW DOG!
There was only 1 news source I have seen regarding this, and it was the one max posted in efnet #ytmnd last nite. I wouldn't consider that Huge. A nice way to end this war would be a report on a fairly big/major internet news website acknowledging that what both parties did was wrong, but also that Ebaums caused it by stealing content. That would be an awesome way to remember this.
______
I owned an operated a site for about 4 years and it was pretty sucessfull. With that being said I understand you being upset. Someone made a site saying that ytmnd rips crap off al the time but that is horse poo poo. Every one knows you guys are not the original creators of cpt picard, brian peppers etc. you just create funny sites about them. The difference between you guys and ebaums is he took your work and claimed it was his own. I hope I explained this right. Every one knows ytmnd did not create star trek, cheers etc, your just using images to create a funny satire. Thats covered under the fair use act. When etrash came and claimed that work as their own thats where the problem is.
Honestly, now's the time to stop. Any way you look at it, YTMND "won," so don't push it. If you wanted his site to be disrupted, it was. If you wanted to harass him personally for some reason, well, he "had to hire security," so mission accomplished. Not saying he didn't deserve it, and not saying he doesn't deserve to be f*cked with because he's a piece of sh*t, but quit doing stuff that puts a spotlight on Max and this site. If you're willing to risk yourself, go nuts. Just don't f*ck it up for everyone else. As far as some clueless FBI/cop prick may think, YTMND is the reason all this is happening, and that wouldn't bode well for this site's future.
Max, just sent a fairly sizeable donation/sponsorship. Thanks for not just shutting everything down in annoyance.
It's funny, really. Apparently, no one told him to take that page down, so he kept it up even to this day because he... didn't know you wanted him to take the page down? I'm sorry, but since when does being a millionaire make you ignorant as a f*cking rock? But yeah, something should be said for taking a loss with elegance by not retaliating any further, because lord knows "Tom Cruise Kills Oprah" is probably going to get jacked next, dated as it is.
Sure ytmnd is overreacting, go ahead, say it, but I believe Eric is being equally fanatical by refusing the take the f*ckING PAGE DOWN after all this. If the original author just recieved even a link to the original page, or even an apology, or oh I don't know, any credit at all, none of this would have happened. He still refuses to do any of these things. If after this global cyber terrorism he still refused to make one single change to that LL page... that makes him just as sick in the head as all those crazy guys who e-bombed him.
eBaum stepping up the language to "global cyber-terrorism" is laughable, as though ebaumsworld.com is a political body - I don't think YTMND is in any danger since Max is actively discouraging attacks - and civil war ? it's always been a diversity of opinions - joke's over, kay ? bring the troops back home
Maybe I missed something, but why hasn't the author of the Lindsey Lohan YTMND contacted ebaum to get it removed? I know the whole WWIII angle between YTMND and ebaums makes for funz0r and attention, but enough is enough already. Ebaums made it clear on the site that if the original author stepped forward and simply asked the Lohan thing to be removed, that they would remove it.
A way to stop eBaums without getting max into trouble would be to make a site that copies EVERYTHING that appears on eBuamsworld everyweek. As soon as a new weeks worth of eBaum appears, the othersite copies every joke, video, and picture featured. It wouldn't be hard to get the people of the internets to just go to the non eBaum one, also they can hardly sue whoever does it since it's common knowledge it's all stolen anyway.
You don't get it Max and neither does Bauman or many people engaging in the "war." The fact is, that this was a matter of proving a point. Bauman thought he could just take a site, pass it off as his own, and and be fine with it. The original maker spent a lot more time creating it than Bauman did stealing it, and nothing is more frustrating than that. When people care enough about something like that to get numerous communities to band together and try and take down the site that did that, it just shows the power of what you've done and that YTMND isn't something to be trampled on. You should be proud of it, max.
Thank god that we have "Raider" here to tell us what "the point" is. While you have a point that the response by YTMND users to the ebaum issue was impressive, you apparently can't grasp the implications of it. A body system turning against itself and growing a tumor can be considered remarkable; but, alas, cancer is not something to be proud of, nor is being a jackass on the internet.
Raider:
1) The "changes facial expressions" idea was never original to ytmnd. It had appeared long ago on albinoblacksheep, among other places. 2)Ebaums did not blatently steal it, a user uploaded the gif with the claim that he created it. They are not, in this case, to blame. 3) It accomplishes nothing to piss off people in the way you guys were doing. Your crusade would have been a lot more effective if you had more of a plan than "OMFG KILL EBAUM LOL." That said, I was a supporter of the forum raids, but you guys definitely took it too far.
this is off topic, but i think the 'last 5 created YTMNDs' section should be changed a little bit. maybe to 'last 10 created YTMNDs' b/c mosts sites can never any views when they are first made if they leave the front page so quickly. sometimes 4 sites come in at a time and a new site is on the front page for less than a minute...just a thought
I'm sorry, but laying down a ban on all Googlefight sites and deleting their creators' accounts is just naive and arbitrary. You can't broadly label any one thing as having no comedic potential to it, and it's all relative anyway. In the grand scheme of things I don't REALLY care, but can't you just downvote like everyone else?
Wow. The saying is true. Those who do not learn from history really are doomed to repeat it. This is alot like Martin Luther and The Peasant's Rebellion. Where ebaumsworld.com is the church, Max is Martin Luther, and everyone one else here are the peasants. Wow. It really is good to pay attention in Social Studies.
But a well-done Googlefight YTMND -- like a well-done YTMND of any web page -- can incorporate audio in a clever way to make it worthwhile. I really think it should be more of a Newgrounds thing, where if a million people give your site a 1 (or maybe report it as being effortless crap), it gets deleted. There's no point in generalizing.
Sir Lemming: I wish you to take a gander at any of the sites currently in the top five. Then I would like you to search "googlefight" and click on any one of those. you cannot tell me that googlefights require any level of talent even possibly comparable to the currently good ytmnds, no matter what music is used. 99.9999% of googlefights are pointless searches coupled with a stolen loop that takes up unnecessary space on the already-overloaded ytmnd servers. Grow up and start making sites that aren't just carbon copies of other ones.
Shortone: How much "talent" did it take to make the original YTMND? It was just the product of some spontaneous humorous insight, I assume. I don't care if MOST Googlefight sites are dumb, it's unreasonble to assume that a good one will never be made, and to actually delete someone's account just for making a Googlefight site that they think could be "the one" but, in a moderator's opinion, isn't. The ban is overly simplistic. I wouldn't mind a policy of deleting stupid, effortless sites in general. That would accurately address the problem. Banning a certain fad -- except for legal or other similar reasons -- doesn't get at the heart of the problem.
I read his response and I must say, there was plenty of legal hyperbole involved. First off to declare this an act of cyberterrorism is taking advantage of safeguards put into place to protect this country, not some guy who has 8 million ads and significantly fewer interesting pieces of content. The only thing I found interesting was the GI Joe PSAs that weren't created on there anyway.
If the Lohan item was really created here before ebaum, then the creation date should settle this (final Oct. 25)
Let us see ebaum prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the attacks were organized here, sanctioned by the head of this Web site and were not perpetrated mostly by those outside of the YTMND community.
Now...
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE COME UP WITH SOME NEW FUNNY **** SOON!!!!!
I would also like to state that I do not agree with part of the statement from ebaum and I will not strip off my clothes as they told me to ("Please bare with us during this time and rest assured we will be back at 100% very soon")
