the never ending saga

Someone has been DDoSing www.ytmnd.com for the last 12 hours. It saddens me that there are still people out there that refuse to let go of this whole thing.
I would appreciate it if you stopped.

$5 says Neil Bauman 'sent in' some of his 'forum soldiers' for this. I'd notify the FBI Cyber Terrorism Unit and send Neil a cease and desist. Better yet, write one, and have boomaga read it dramatically over the phone to him.
Anway, I've been able to access the site just fine. Not a very succesful DDoS, then. I don't think this hacker is a candidate for Mission Impossible.
DDoSing is a form of hacking. I know that much. e_e; Apparently Neil and Eric have soldiers on there side, too. Good job dumbasses. Wtf were people thinking going up to them face-to-face? Moreover, wtf were they thinking turning this whole thing into a damn jihad? I seriously wished people read the comments more often so they could see the points these guys have made.
Chipping in meaningless "OMG PWNZED" messages only serves to provoke more of this crap. We know Max done good, and he knows it too, but don't you think it'd sorta piss him off that you keep on with the anti-eBaum stuff?
More likely than not, this has just turned into a cause. A cause that people pick up to have something to do. The actual artists and creators should be calling eBaum and simply trying to get a straight answer. If it makes you feel better, tape the conversation. But whatever you do, DON'T ACT LIKE A F***ING MORON. Try to have some goddamn sense and show some maturity.
This whole thing will just keep on otherwise.
Yes I have been experiencing extra lag and page not foundness from ytmnd, happy to hear it's not my intarwebs fault but sad that ytmnd got slowed for a bit =( I really can't imagine Neil Bauman ever trying to restrain the illegal DDoS on his side of the fence, and so for that Max we give you credit, huzzah. We know we are the better site.
Look, nobody won, nobody lost. What the hell is wrong with you people? The only result from this whole mess is that both sides get represented as angry mobs full of jackasses. On that note, the next person to ask what DDoS is without reading the comments ought to be reported to the FBI:CTU. So while we're on abbreviations I'll say this: STFU. I love you all (in a platonic heterosexual way)
DDoSing is sending many fake TCP/SYN packets so that the server will not allow any more packets to be sent. Each packet has a fake IP. In order to complete a connection the server has to send a packet back, but since the IP's are fake the site can never connect. The server doesn't know the difference between the fake IP's and the real ones, so it will not attempt to connect to a legit user until the person DDoSing stops.
Well, well. A hack attack! What about the cc to Niel's lawyer? The FBI Cyber Terrorism Unit? Ebaums better watch it. If they contact the authorities, they'd better have clean hands! This is getting more and more like a 2 stooges show. Eric and Niel: Stooge Hypocrites! Holy Yiddish Cup, Batman! They spilled their beans!
You guys are all so dumb, dont you think this woulda been over if you guess didnt comment after the last news thread "OMFG EBAUMS 0 YTMND 1000000000" your just f*ckign stupid, where lucky that the pseron who was doing it isnt very good at it (i didnt feel any lag) but if you guys keep f*ckign around theyll prob do what we did to them, ebaums is a big corperation and Im not sure wed be able to handle it as well as they did. And they handled it well and still got f*cked in the ass. Let this all end and let it be a lesson. Chill the f*ck out.
make sure you report this to the proper authorities.
Don't worry about being held liable for what people said in the forums. I was reading an article, and int hat specific case, the Communications Decency Act gives AOL immunity from chatroom misconduct. AOL cannot be held liable for the actions of people on the site. I'm sure the same owuld apply here.
It's most likely some kiddie playing with bots, using publically released exploits to obtain zombie machines. Why don't you just use a common exploit(wkssvc, asn1smbnt, lsass, etc) into metasploit and root one of the ip's hitting the site? then find where the jacked machine connects and nail the person controlling all of them.
Honestly, I think everyones being a tad ridiculous, except Max. From Neil Bauman and his Yiddish Cup to All the immature users on YTMND who are potentionally ruining everything for the rest of the YTMND community. Look at it like this, the more E-baums world references and YTMNDs that show up on this site, the higher odds of the site that us YTMND users, and Max have all worked so hard to build to what it is today.
