so much to say, so little time

An update.
Well first, your donations have finally paid for the new content server. What I didn't tell you: I paid for it with a credit card already. You may have noticed the switch over earlier this month. Everything should be a lot faster now.
Also I've launched YTMND Radio, which hopefully be manned by a few users at any one time. If you'd like to DJ, let me know at max@ytmnd.com.
On top of that, I deleted 2211 accounts that were used for up and downvoting which accounted for over 250,000 votes, so don't be surprised if you notice some unfamiliar sites popping up top in the next day or so.

"Anybody noticed the copyright leeching on YTMND? Advertising money is made from original work
which uses non-original work. This is stealing, and illegal." This is my point! It doesn't matter that Bauman does it for a living, the same thing is occurring. Copyright theft that generates money through advertising (even though the amounts are drastically different.) Jimmy: Thank you for your non-flaming reply. I know YTMND's ads and eBaum's ads exist for 2 different reasons, keeping a site alive or generating mass cash. But $ is still being made, thus Max'd be hypocritical to leave anti-Bauman sites up. (The removal of all anti-Bauman sites should have been DAILY, not a one-time thing.)
Right, it's your freedom, but if you're pulling in cash from stuff users made that stole from other people, it does look really bad to simultaneously bash ebaums for the same thing. Unauthorized use of copyrighted characters (frequently in a context that isn't parody,) wholesale lifting of clips from TV and movies, unauthorized use of music? Come on. I don't have anything against it - I'm about as pro-theft as it gets - but don't get high and mighty about how you're the "good guy" thief. The sooner you come down here with the rest of us scum, the better.
inkdrinker: I don't feel I was ever high and mighty. I run an ad or two on each page and it manages to pay for hosting. I pay my rent with my salary that I make from my full time job, not YTMND. I give plenty of opportunity to let people credit their sources, but at the same time I can't check every source just as I can't check every site. That being said, do you think I have permission to use any of the clips in any of the sites I've made?
Copyright law does not allow for this. Patents require everyone to patent their ideas. Writing long windy speeches get responses. Making no sense, broken english. Also e-baum. The monkies out there credit sources sometimes, monkey butts. We are all guilty of things that we tell everyone. With that being said, we need more words. ps. max keep doing your thing.
max: I don't actually expect that you'd do it. I'm not eBaum, nor do I work for him. I'm just a guy that thinks if digital content isn't protected, then no one should be doing anything about it when it's taken. I have a lot of screwed up beliefs, this being one of the lesser ones. Thanks for actually replying without massive flames though. You're a good guy and YTMND is a great site, just wish ppl would let monopolies (Microsoft, eBaum, Wal-Mart, Big Oil) stay monopolies and not do anything about it. I KNOW I'm obviously in the minority when Inkdrinker is actually agreeing with me, but meh.
Bubba: Microsoft may not be a monopoly, but there are some lawsuits that have been ruled against them saying they are.
Madnezz: Okay, I misused the word. Oil companies are an oligopoly (a small group of companies working together to control a market). KingCrimson: At that point, there's no problem! If Max puts every penny back into the site, and never spends any of the money for personal use, then there's no profit -- and he'd be free to bash Bauman without being a hypocrite. The issue isn't if money is still coming in, it's if there's profit being made.

Wizzle first, yo donations have finally paid fo` tha new content serva. Wizzle I didn't tizzle you straight from long beach n*gg*: I paid fo` it wit a credit card already. I have never told anyone about this ...
I am routinely abducted by aliens and given multiple anal probe exams and frankly, I wish it would stop. Sure, at first I would go outside and wave at the mothership, trying to get them to abduct me. But now it has lost all it's gleam and appeal.
I want to have normal friends.
I think Mewto missed my point back there. I probably didn't make it clear enough. If anybody wants to sue Max for all the copyrighted music and images, feel free, it's exactly the same as eBaums in that respect, but we all signed up for YTMND, and fight each other to create the best page. This is all original work that has been willingly submitted to YTMND, granted with copyrighted material in them, but with humour added. eBaums just steals, makes nothing himself, leeches off others ideas without credit, and for that, Bauman and his employees should go kill themselves. YTMND is the RIGHT way to steal.
No one is going to sue Ebaums, and no one is going to sue YTMND. Hosting all sorts of media is what the internet is for, and there are much more important issues for the law system to be dealing with, than these petty disputes. Seriously, no one really cares. You cite the sources, you get the original artists more exposure, and everyone wins. End of story.
Murphy's law (also known as Finagle's law or Sod's law) is a popular adage in Western culture, which broadly states that things will go wrong in any given situation. "If there's more than one way to do a job, and one of those ways will result in disaster, then somebody will do it that way." It is most commonly formulated as "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." In American culture the law was named after Major Edward A. Murphy, Jr., a development engineer working for a brief time on rocket sled experiments done by the United States Air Force in 1949.
Mewtwostuckback: You are the biggest idiot here (trust me, that is an accomplishment in itself) do your damn homework. Max is not the one taking the content, other people submit it to him. When people submit content they are supposed to have permission, and are supposed to site their sources. There is nothing illegal here, now move along you assclown.

Sumwhere: The thing is, YTMND doesnt take credit for everything its users make. WHERES TEH YTMND
WATERMARKS http://lohanfacial.ytmnd.com/ And yeah, he makes way more money, but by doing the same thing here. The fact that there are AdSense things on this site are enough th put him in the same league as Bauman, even without the popups/additional ads.
lohanfacial.ytmnd.com has a watermark AS A RESULT OF eBaums thievery. AdSense is what webmasters use to support servers, thousands of pop-ups and 'CLICK TO SHOOT THE DUCK', 'OUTDANCE HER' and many things designed to trick stupid people are just for moneymaking. Yes I admit it's stealing, but I don't really care. Claiming media for yourself, despite it not being yours is just being a bastard. YTMND is good, k?
