Greetings,

I've been hard at work on the mod control panels for the last couple weeks and they are really coming along. I'm also working on a few other features which I will go into further inside.

Also, I think it's time to start looking for users to add to the moderation team. Read more for details.


First off, YTMND sites that use the preloader are now Opera/Wii compatible. It took a lot of hackery but you should now be able to view some YTMND's on your Wii without trouble.

Next up the search replacement is coming along nicely. I think the engine is almost production-ready. It will replace the search and the /list functionality. It will also allow you to search comments and image/sound origins as well as a few other previously unsearchable fields. That's just waiting for some UI Design love and then it will launch.

I also re-wrote the site template to be much cleaner than it was previously, the pages are smaller and most of the static stuff can now be cached as it is in external files.

I want to switch over to the new site creator, but haven't due to it being somewhat buggy. I desperately need bug reports from you guys about the new site creator, so if you have found something wrong in the past, please mail me or post it here.


While the moderator control panels aren't fully up and functioning yet, the Super-Mods are giving lots of good feedback and I hope to be finished with it soon. It's time to start recruiting moderators, and we need around 200 of them so don't be shy!

Is it just me, or is it the flash ads that are slowing down the flash preloader for firefox? Either way, I don't like them. Flash ads are always scams that only idiots click so they can have a free particapation required laptop that they will never get. One of the downsides to firefox is too much flash over a long period of time slows the browser to a crawl. Shame really, as Firefox was like the only browser that the preloader actually worked properly. But the worst flash ads are those noisemaking ones.

As far as I can tell, the new moderator system will fail because none of the mods have the ability to delete users. There should at least be a few supermods with this power. Seems that the only thing they can really do is mark sites nsfw (which is a lame sort of quasi-punishment) and report the site for further action. And by "further acction", I mean that they will sit in a queue until max decides to review and delete them. Which is what already happens with the "report this site" function.
