description:
A bizarre question asked on Yahoo! Answers garners an even more bizarre response. When WAS the last time that Detroit was attacked by vampires? Does Robert Pattinson know about it?
Text from Yahoo!:
"A friend and I were discussing Eminem earlier today, and I had brought up the line in "Lose Yourself" when he compares his small neighborhood of Detroit as Salem's Lot. I was then wondering if Eminem had either read the novel of 'Salem's Lot, since there are two major differences between Jerusalem's Lot and the town in which Mr. Mathers grew up.
1) 'Salem's Lot was a small, quaint country village, not a poverty-stricken suburban ghetto of a major city.
2) 'Salem's Lot was being taken over by vampires.
I do not believe that Detroit has been invaded by vampires recently, but I decided to check on here anyway. Does anyone here know of the last time Detroit had to fight off a vampire apocalypse? If you could help me, that would be great.
Thank you."
Best Answer:
"The last time Detroit had to fight off a vampire attack was in November of 2005, when the book "Twilight" was released, causing many vampires to believe they could reveal themselves openly. The first signs of the attack was when several victims were found dead with bite marks in their necks. The police originally thought it was the work of sociopaths, but further proof was found when a dead vampire was found by several homeless men hoping for a reward.
After the police found conclusive evidence, they brought it to the attention of the mayor. He was hesitant at first, but discovery of a second vampire corpse convinced him otherwise. He put out a press statement warning the citizens of Detroit, and killing techniques. This led to a plethora of vampire corpses. After it was found that most of these corpses were not vampires, but in fact emos, The mayor put out another press statement that told all of Detroit to alert the authorities if they found a vampire. This was to prevent more emo killings. (although, the mayor was heard saying that it was not necessarily a bad thing).
Eventually most of the vampires were killed off, but there are some that live there still today."

description:
Green is the sixth studio album by the American alternative rock band R.E.M. and their first release for Warner Bros. Records. Released in November 1988, the album continued to explore political issues both in its lyrics and packaging. To promote Green, the band embarked on an 11-month world tour and released four singles: "Orange Crush", "Stand", "Pop Song 89", and "Get Up".
Background and recording
With the release of Document in 1987, R.E.M. fulfilled its contract with I.R.S. Records. Frustrated that its records did not see satisfactory overseas distribution, in early 1988 the band told I.R.S. head Jay Boberg that it was leaving the label. Guitarist Peter Buck also explained that his group felt it was being pressured to sell well by I.R.S., yet felt I.R.S.'s distributor MCA Records did not consider the ensemble a priority. R.E.M.'s management then approached any record companies that expressed interest in the band. Though other labels offered more money, R.E.M. ultimately signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records—reportedly between $6 million and $12 million—due to the company's assurance of total creative freedom. In light of its move to a major label, the band became defensive in interviews about accusations from some fans who claimed it was selling out.
R.E.M. began the album process by recording demos at Robbie Collins' Underground Sound Recording Studio in Athens, Georgia. Bill Berry, Peter Buck and Mike Mills recorded the basic tracks in two configurations: (1) guitar, bass, and drums and (2) percussion, mandolin, and accordion. The demos were mixed by Robbie Collins, Buren Fowler (guitar tech for Pete Buck and later member of Drivin' & Cryin'), and David LaBruyere (later bassist for Vic Varney, Michelle Malone, and John Mayer) and presented to R.E.M. management. Michael Stipe used these recordings for his vocal arrangements.
The band recorded the studio album at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, with Scott Litt producing.
Music
In a 1988 interview, Peter Buck described Green as an album that didn't feature any typical R.E.M. songs. Describing the band's standard output as "Minor key, mid-tempo, enigmatic, semi-folk-rock-balladish things", the guitarist noted that for Green, "We wrote major key rock songs and switched instruments." Singer Michael Stipe had reportedly told his bandmates to "not write any more R.E.M.-type songs". Bassist Mike Mills argued that Green was an experimental record, resulting in an album that was "haphazard, a little scattershot". Band biographer David Buckley wrote, "[S]onically, Green is all over the place, the result being a fascinatingly eclectic album rather than a unified artistic move forward".
Green was reputedly envisioned as an album where one side would feature electric songs and the other, acoustic material, with the plan failing to come to fruition due to a lack of acoustic songs deemed fit for release. David Buckley highlighted three main musical strands on Green: "ironic pop songs" like "Stand" and "Pop Song 89", harder-hitting tracks such as "Orange Crush" and "Turn You Inside-Out", and "pastoral acoustic numbers" that had Peter Buck playing mandolin, with "The Eleventh Untitled Song" singled out as an anomaly. Buck had become fond of playing acoustic music with his friends in that period, and thus purchased an "oddly-shaped Italian mandolin-cum-lyre" in 1987; he would play the instrument on three of the tracks on Green. From this period onward, R.E.M. would swap instruments among members, and on Green the group also incorporated accordion, cello, and lap steel guitar.

Darkseid (Uxas) is a fictional supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer-artist Jack Kirby, the character first made a cameo in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 in November 1970 before officially debuting in Forever People #1 in February 1971.[1] He is the tyrannical ruler of the planet Apokolips whose ultimate goal is to conquer the universe by eliminating all hope and free will in sentient beings.[2] A New God and one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe, Darkseid serves as a staple Superman villain and the archenemy of the Justice League.
The character was ranked as the 6th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time by IGN and as the 23rd Greatest Villain of All Time by Wizard magazine.[3] Darkseid has been substantially adapted into various forms of media, most notably being voiced by Michael Ironside within the DC animated universe, by Andre Braugher in Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, by Tony Todd in the DC Animated Movie Universe, and as the main antagonist in the final season of Smallville. After being referenced multiple times in the DC Extended Universe, he will make his feature film debut in Zack Snyder's Justice League.
ublication history
Jack Kirby returned to DC Comics with Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #133 and immediately began establishing characters that would lay the foundation for his newly conceived Fourth World epic. The chief antagonist would be the villain Darkseid who had a cameo in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134 (November 1970) with a full first appearance in Forever People #1 (February 1971) . The character was originally designed to be the chief antagonist of the titles Forever People, Mister Miracle and New Gods, but after the cancellation of these titles, he continued to appear as a major villain in many DC Universe comic books, fighting both Superman and Batman. According to writer Mark Evanier, Kirby modelled Darkseid's face on actor Jack Palance, while the villain's personality was inspired by Adolf Hitler and Richard Nixon.[4][3]
Fictional character biography
The son of King Yuga Khan and Queen Heggra, Prince Uxas, second in line to the throne of Apokolips, plotted to seize power over the planet.[5] When his brother, Drax, attempted to claim the fabled Omega Force, Uxas murdered him, and took the power for himself. The power transformed him into a rock and demon-like creature, upon which he took the name Darkseid.[6][7][8][9] At some point in time, he fell in love with an Apokoliptian scientist and sorceress named Suli, with whom he had a son, Kalibak; however, Suli was poisoned by Desaad on Heggra's behalf, as she believed that Suli was corrupting her son.
Following Suli's death, Darkseid's heart grew even colder, and he ordered Desaad to poison Heggra, and as soon as he did, Darkseid finally became the supreme monarch of Apokolips. Darkseid had briefly been forced by his mother to marry Tigra, with whom he also had a son. After murdering his mother, Darkseid ordered Tigra to eliminate their son, Orion, who was switched with the Highfather's son, Scott Free, so as to keep peace between New Genesis and Apokolips.[10]
The destructive war with the rival planet, New Genesis, was stopped only with a diplomatic exchange of the sons of Highfather and Darkseid. Darkseid's second born son was surrendered to Highfather, while Darkseid received Scott Free. This eventually turned out to be a setback for Darkseid, with his biological son growing up to value and defend the ideals of New Genesis as a powerful champion in opposition to his father. The prophecy foretold that Darkseid would meet his final defeat at the hands of his son in a cataclysmic battle in the fiery Armaghetto of Apokolips.

Meet Nick, an MBA, CEO, and Creative Director of Galt Mile Media Group, Inc.
Nick likes to abuse Craigslist and has 359 live ads for his business.
How does he do this?
Well part of his success in placing so many ads could be due to the fact that he embeds his customer ads, in his ad, for his $199 Web site special. This may well serve to help hide that fact that he is posting so many ads from Craigslist ad filters, as it is not possible to place 15, of the same ads, without bypassing the ad posting filters.
Nick is apperntly very Butt Hurt that someone called a number, he provided in in his many Craiglist ads, and asked the person who answered if they knew that their advertiser/website designer was using their company info, to assist in placing up to 15 prohibited ads a day on Craiglist. That does not sound like harassment Nick, you put the
number in the ad, why did you put the number in the ad, if people are not supposed to use it?
That does not make sense Nick, so maybe the problem is you are placing prohibited ads, inside prohibited ads, and you should not do that.
Nick you make broad claims on your website that you are educated, ethical, and believe in Jesus. Well Nick, Jesus is watching, what do you have to say to him about this?
