Sites like YTMND are really quite unique and should not be allowed to die off. If founder Max doesn't want to maintain it, perhaps he can sell it for whatever he can get?
Though I suppose there is the danger than the buyer would eventually shut it down as well, like happened to the "Jump the Shark" site.
