barbara is right, Alan Tudyk said that if Firefly is resurrected, Wash will return somehow (most likely by way of prequel). Joss stated killing someone before the final battle was essential in faking the audience into thinking that everyone else was going to die too. Boycotting Serenity is not the way to bring the series back.
