OMG!!! The SAME THING happened to me with a crazy chic. She tried for 45 friggin' minutes to sell me high-speed. I'm usually a very calm, easy-going gal, but with that heinous biznatch, I lost it and cussed her out up one side and down the other. Sailors around the world would've been proud. WTF do they teach these people?!?!

Hahahahahah, this is funny because I used to work at AOL customer support and our supervisor told us to delay the cancelling process as long as possible to maybe make the owner of the account call back the next day, thus the company would recieve an extra day of payment. I quit the next day. Damn, this is exactly like what we'd do. Rofl.
I'ved worked customer service, and I half to say that half of that was said solely because the supervisor forces it. However, by the third time the guy said to cancel, it should have been done. No questions asked. Most people cancel their crap due to poor service. The idea is to fix that. If they don't want it, drop it. Cancel the account.
I hate almost the exact same conversation when trying to get my account cancelled. The only difference was that I was more beligerant, kept asking the guy if English was his first language and why he couldn't understand my simple request. The damn people still didn't cancel my account, instead they gave me some sort of free month and then started billing me again afterwards. Had to finnally go through my credit card and ask them to refuse payments from AOL. AOL is not a good company.
Back when AOL was just starting out, and I was about 11 years old, I fell for their schemes. The bastards promised me ten free hours, I used my ten free hours, and cancelled the account. Then they kept billing me for 6 months after that, and then they sold my name to every free internet business out there. Every week for the next 5 years I must have gotten a free offer from every internet service you can think of.
Those f*ckers really do represent everything that is wrong with the world.
