anyone who voted 5 on this is a dumbass, Its not deep at all, its insulting too. the finger pointing represents "you're" then the second tv represents "the man" (Sean conary) and then theres a picture of a alarm clock going off which is the "now" and then you got a "dog". the DUNCE IS US for watching a bunch of screens with ytmnd. The star however represents how we feel, the presense fading in and out is simply how we vote and the dark room is a steriotype playerground for internet users"
Incredible work my friend. You did an exceltent job with the music. I just had to save it on WM, its so incredible. I dont care what anyone says, ive seen some very very creative things on this site. I dont care if YTMND is for funny stuff, YTMND is a medium of its own. Good work for using the tools tht are available to you through this site.
Your YTMNDs would be better if you used works by Richard James instead of the crap you concoct. You have a talent for making graphics, but really, all these YTMNDs say to me is, "I wasted $70,000 on art school and all I got was this job at Starbucks."
There is a place for appreciating art and being a prideful person about it, but we call those bourgeois art galleries.
the point, for those who fail to see it, is that the screens spell out '[youre] [the man] [now] [dog]'. and possibly that its being watched by an idiot, which may be royal's message to us, that we're all dunces. which if so, means he's the one performing for our delight. there is also a rotation of letters in the upper right that i can't make out but i think it spells 'ytmnd oddity'. theres also something on the left that may or may not be a skeleton.
It's not like this is difficult to understand or truly art at all. You all treat this as if it's some sort of enigma. Some of you read so much into this and worship ROY4L. He's a great user, but his sites are coming off as pretentious and arrogant now. I'd like to continue seeing good stuff from him, but don't treat him like Salvador freaking Dali.
By the way, what is it with you, ROY4L? All your submissions are pretentious crap, all your votes are FOR pretentious crap... I mean, arty stuff is fine very now and then, but can't you ever let your hair down and enjoy something as base as "Dr. Dre feat. Cosby" every now and then? If not, I feel sorry for you.
Alright, everyone here has covered the TV screen things. About that skeleton and the like, as far as I'm concerned it runs as follows: The skeleton out of frame follows the whole mind never dying thing, skeletons generally represent death, and it's out of frame with the rest. The idiot represents the viewer, attempting to "read" this YTMND, being met with tribulation and having this "monkey on his back" until he figures it out. "YTMNDODDITY", I guess is just what this is. Please don't insult me...
'HEY REDHEX WELCOME TO FIVE YEARS AGO' ---> beg pardon? anyway, to adjoin, i see a lot of people reading a lot of things into roy4l's stuff. that's fine and dandy, but don't sit in art-school smugness and insist you're the enlightened recipient of secret knowledge. carry on like that and you'll turn into a living cliche. it is what it is, an animation on a humour site.
